In this hybrid role based in Montreal, Canada, you’ll coordinate and execute engineering projects ranging from Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) to Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) projects. Your expertise will drive project safety, cost efficiency, quality, and reliability.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

How You’ll Make an Impact
Deliver cost-effective, high-quality solutions within budget and contract.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigate potential risks.
Create civil and structural engineering work plans and cost estimates.
Develop design criteria and design document deliverables for projects.
Perform engineering in structural design, building design, foundation design, and material specifications for high-voltage substation and FACTS applications.
Resolve design issues and ensure compliance with national and local codes.
Review design packages and support construction and field engineering.
Assume responsibility as the professionally licensed Engineer of Record on project assignments.
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Licensed professional engineer (Ing.) member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil and/or structural engineering.
Proficiency in design software such as RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, L-Pile, ENERCALC, Hilti PROFIS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Strong knowledge of applicable standards and codes (CSA S16, CSA A23.3, NBCC).
Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
