In this role, you'll:


Provide specialist technical expertise and technical management support across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, service providers and industry specialists, you will help drive quality outcomes, manage technical risks and ensure compliance with engineering standards and governance requirements

More specifically you will:


• Manage the technical delivery of infrastructure projects from award through to completion.


• Develop and maintain effective relationships with service providers, contractors and key stakeholders.


• Apply a risk-based approach to engineering design and technical decision-making throughout the asset lifecycle.


• Review and provide advice on technical specifications, standards, engineering designs and project documentation.


• Coordinate technical reviews and approvals with relevant authorities and subject matter experts.


• Monitor design quality and ensure project outcomes integrate effectively with existing transport networks and local infrastructure.


• Contribute to the improvement of engineering standards, specifications and technical frameworks across the organisation.


• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, digital engineering practices and industry innovations to support best-practice project delivery.

About you


You are an experienced civil engineering professional with strong technical expertise and a proven ability to successfully manage infrastructure projects in complex environments. You combine sound engineering judgement with strong stakeholder engagement skills and are passionate about delivering safe, sustainable and high-quality outcomes for customers and communities.

To succeed in this role, you will have:


• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.


• Demonstrated experience managing small to medium infrastructure projects, including technical and risk management responsibilities.


• Strong knowledge of technical specifications, standards development and engineering governance processes.


• Experience working with materials, equipment and construction techniques across rail, road, maritime, bridge or culvert infrastructure.


• Ability to solve complex engineering challenges and provide practical, evidence-based solutions.


• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.


• Knowledge of digital engineering and sustainable infrastructure practices will be highly regarded.


• Maritime and coastal engineering experience will be highly regarded.
