A well-established and highly respected civil engineering and land development consulting firm in the Lake Hopatcong, NJ area is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (PE) to join its leadership team.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer who is interested in growing into firm leadership and eventual partnership. The firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering services while maintaining long-standing relationships with municipalities and private clients throughout the region.

The incoming engineer will play a key role in project leadership, client management, and mentoring junior staff, while helping guide projects from concept through approvals and construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow relationships with municipal and private sector clients
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams on land development and civil engineering projects
• Review, approve, and seal engineering plans and reports
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• Represent projects before municipal planning and zoning boards
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff
• Support business development and strategic growth initiatives

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• 5–10 years of civil engineering experience, ideally within land development consulting
• Experience managing projects and interacting directly with clients
• Comfortable presenting at planning board and zoning board hearings
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred)
