The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing Adelaide team and contribute to a variety of civil infrastructure projects. You will liaise internally with staff within the Local Government
Program, across all teams within the organisation, and externally with local government clients, service providers and authorities.

Who You Are:

  • A passionate and proactive team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Analytical thinking, curiosity, creativity and attention to detail.
  • A passion or desire to work on local government related projects.
  • A technical problem-solver with at least 7 years’ experience in a range of civil infrastructure projects, with an understanding of Australian standards and guidelines.
  • Enthusiastic about working in multi-disciplinary teams in a national team format.
  • Actively contribute or participate in industry related events and presentations.

Where You Are

The role is located in Adelaide however you will work on projects throughout Australia, predominately South Australia and Victoria.

What You Bring:

  • Relevant qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated technical background in Civil Engineering related disciplines including understanding of Australian Standards and industry guides.
  • Demonstrated experience with Local Government is preferred.
  • Assist with and undertake site visits alongside peers to support field and investigative work
  • Efficient multi-tasker with a fundamental understanding of project delivery processes and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative and flexible team-oriented approach, with good experience working within a group environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Join a supportive and collaborative Adelaide based engineering team collaborating with Project Engineers, Designers/drafters and Senior/Principal Engineers.
  • Work for Local Government clients and developers to design and document civil infrastructure projects across stormwater, civil and transport disciplines.
  • Contribute to the delivery of well-documented designs, including documents, drawings, specifications, and reports, meeting Tonkin's and client standards.
  • Provide inputs to other engineers and drafters in producing high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with other disciplines to ensure project coordination.
  • Understanding of relevant software e.g. Autoturn, or stormwater modelling software and how they apply to the infrastructure lifecycle.
