You will act as the technical authority for civil works on a major infrastructure project in Qatar, reviewing all engineering outputs and ensuring they meet strict regulatory and client standards. You will resolve design and construction issues, coordinate across multiple parties, and maintain rigorous oversight from documentation through to handover. This role demands deep technical knowledge, direct engagement with site teams and consultants, and precise control over compliance.
What you'll do
Scrutinise civil engineering designs, drawings and specifications to verify alignment with local authority codes and project requirements.
Approve or reject method statements, material submissions and technical documentation based on compliance with international and Qatari standards.
Supervise construction activities onsite to check adherence to approved designs and identify deviations early.
Coordinate with contractors, consultants and client engineers to resolve clashes or constructability issues as they arise.
Track progress of civil works against project milestones using detailed site inspections and status reports.
Prepare technical reports that document non-conformance, corrective actions taken, and recommendations for improvement.
Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities by verifying completion of required quality checks.
Ensure civil works integrate smoothly with adjacent disciplines such as MEP and structural engineering.
What you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum 8 years’ experience on major civil or infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities or drainage systems.
Direct experience reviewing technical submissions against Qatari or GCC authority requirements.
Strong understanding of international codes such as BS, EN or Aashto applied in the Middle East context.
Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed technical reports for client review.
Proven track record resolving site-based engineering issues under tight deadlines.
Nice to have
Chartered or Professional Engineer status (ICE, IStructE, PE or equivalent).
Experience supporting handover of large municipal infrastructure projects in Qatar or GCC countries.
Familiarity with digital document management tools used in consultancy environments.
