The Role

As a Senior Civil Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Purpose As a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and some time originating, checking and guiding others the Civil Engineering discipline on feasibility studies, FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, and brownfield projects. You will provide technical leadership, ensure quality and timely delivery of civil engineering deliverables, and support project execution across multidisciplinary teams.
You will act as the focal point for all civil engineering activities, interface with clients, coordinate with other disciplines, and mentor a team of civil engineers and designers.

Technical Leadership

  • Civil engineering design and execution for industrial facilities including Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Energy, Power, and Infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and review civil design philosophies, specifications, reports, and calculations.
  • Lead site development and grading design.
  • Design and review:
    • Roads and pavements
    • Drainage systems
    • Stormwater management systems
    • Underground utilities
    • Earthworks and grading
    • Retaining structures
    • Blast-resistant and industrial facilities
  • Analysis and design of:
    • Pipe racks
    • Equipment support structures
    • Technological structures
    • Warehouses and industrial buildings
    • Process structures
    • Conveyor systems
    • Cooling towers
    • Water tanks
    • Modular structures
    • Existing facility modifications and brownfield projects
  • Review geotechnical reports and establish design criteria.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical consultants and external stakeholders.
  • Develop civil material take-offs and quantity estimates.
  • Lead equipment foundation design under static and dynamic loads.
  • Direct seismic and wind engineering studies.

Project Management & Coordination

  • Plan discipline activities and monitor schedule adherence.
  • Interface with Project Managers and Engineering Managers.
  • Manage scope, deliverables, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process disciplines.
  • Participate in client meetings and technical reviews.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor engineers and designers.
  • Perform technical reviews and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Support competency development and training initiatives.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, Constructability, and Risk Assessment studies.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project quality requirements.
  • Champion safety-in-design principles and OH&S requirements.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

Experience

  • 12–20 years of experience in Civil Engineering design for industrial projects.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience in FEED and Detail Engineering projects.
  • Exposure to international projects and clients is preferred.


Technical Skills

  • Site development and grading design.
  • Drainage and utility network design.
  • Foundation loading and interface coordination.
  • Familiarity with:
    • ACI
    • BS Codes
    • Eurocodes
    • IS Codes
    • ASCE Standards
    • UFC Standards
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Civil 3D
    • AutoCAD
    • MicroStation
    • GIS platforms

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer registration desirable.
