Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Senior Civil Designer to join our Water Infrastructure Digital Design Team, based in Perth.

Due to a steady pipeline of exciting and innovative projects, GHD’s Water Infrastructure Design Delivery Group has a great opportunity for a Senior Civil Designer to assist in growing our digital design team. In this role you will be responsible for leading a team in the production of 3D design models and 2D drawings for water & wastewater conveyance projects.

As part of GHD’s Design & Delivery Organisation (DDO), you’ll be connected to a broader network of technical specialists across GHD, bringing together the right skills and experience to deliver projects across regions and disciplines.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Multi-discipline projects predominantly supporting the WA water industry.
• Managing and distributing tasks to a team of designers and drafters.
• Overseeing the preparation of 3D models and 2D design drawings.
• Co-ordinating design and 3D model reviews.
• Implementing QA checks on design documentation.
• Collaborating with engineers on various technical tasks.
• Collaborating with project management team to ensure timely delivery of design documentation.

What you will bring to the team:

• Relevant CAD, drafting or other technical qualifications will be highly regarded (e.g. Diploma, Adv. Diploma or similar).
• Design experience in the water industry in WA; knowledge of Water Corporation drafting and design standards preferred.
• Experience with detailed design of water and/or wastewater pressure mains, gravity mains and/or pumping stations.
• Proficiency using 12D & Synergy.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam and Autodesk Forma, along with an understanding of CAD software interoperability, is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary, global team, including delegation of workload and supervision of less experienced team members.
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to collaborate with other technical team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on the production of quality outputs.
