Corporate and Institutional Banking

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.
In this role, you will:
Impact on the Business/Function
- Coordinate the execution of the Outbound strategy, including strategy paper, initiatives formulation, driving actions and track the deliverables.
- Drive the in-country execution of the Group's Outbound strategy to drive revenue and achieve the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets.
- Support customer account strategies and liaise with Regions/Branches assigning prospects and opportunities to HBCN Coverage Bankers / Global Network Banking (GNB) RMs.
- Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms that monitor execution of the Outbound strategy.
- Interpret and communicate any global GNB and regulatory developments and ensure timely training and familiarization for frontline teams is delivered.
- Execute tactical projects to ensure that market firsts are attained for key products and market trends.
- Devise strategy to raise Outbound and international awareness/knowledge for front-line colleagues.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Build relationships with government officials, trade bodies, commercial chambers and regulators in China. Focus on capturing ODI opportunities.
- Participate in meetings with major/high level Outbound clients and prospects, to provide guidance, pitch for new business, resolve any issues, and facilitate smooth operations and services, thus building loyalty and client satisfaction.
- Establish the agenda for internal education (e.g. workshops and seminars) and external marketing (client forums and summits).
- Deepen customer relationships through championing business co-operation with key stakeholders including Global Business, Global Products and Global Functions, to contribute to Outbound strategy.
- Provide 'thought leadership' on Outbound matters to key internal stakeholders and serve as a subject matter expertise on international.
- Organize and execute workshops, forums, seminars, roadshows and presentations.
- Work with in-country stakeholders where required to remove any blockages for transactions and coordinate escalation to resolve matters in a timely and efficient manner.
Leadership & Teamwork
- Work closely with Global Businesses, Global Products and Global Functions to execute a comprehensive strategy for the China Outbound proposition.
- Build network with Group offices (including global CIB, GNB and China Desks) to enhance profile and cooperation with China.
- Manage China Desk Manager (CDM) proposition/governance and support periodical review on CDM structure to align with China CIB and GNB management. Coordinate feedback to GNB teams on CDM performance and provide support on people management matters.

- Continually assess operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
Essential:
- Proven and progressive business development, sales management, and credit experience or equivalent.
- Adaptability and mobility. The role may require the jobholder to frequently travel throughout China and work abroad on short term assignments.
- Extensive knowledge and proven sales success with the Bank's products and services, or equivalent
- Good understanding and knowledge of GNB and experience with working with multinational corporates.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders in a global environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including organizational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills.
- Ability to set and manage own agenda, while ensuring alignment with stakeholder priorities.
- Excellent spoken and written Mandarin and English.
Desired:
- University graduate degree in business related field, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of local operating markets and their corresponding span(s) of control within assigned region.
- Experience of driving strategic change in a matrix environment.
