Key Role

Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for complex chemical engineering scopes across energy and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on driving technically robust, safe and compliant solutions, leading discipline inputs within multidisciplinary teams, reviewing and approving key deliverables, and supporting project, client and business objectives at a senior level.

  • Lead chemical engineering scopes across project phases (feasibility, concept, basic and detailed design) for complex and high‑risk projects
  • Define and approve design philosophies, basis of design inputs, and key technical approaches for chemical, process support and plant systems
  • Provide technical authority and review/approval of calculations, specifications, engineering reports, datasheets and design deliverables
  • Lead development and review of chemical dosing systems, storage and handling systems, water treatment/conditioning systems, utilities, and effluent/emissions interfaces
  • Provide expert input into material selection, corrosion management strategies, and chemical compatibility for plant systems and infrastructure
  • Guide and review P&IDs, operating philosophies, commissioning strategies and operational support documentation
  • Lead technical engagement with vendors and suppliers, including evaluation of complex technical submissions and participation in negotiations
  • Provide technical leadership during construction and commissioning phases, resolving complex technical queries and site issues
  • Lead and participate in safety and risk studies (e.g. HAZID/HAZOP), ensuring alignment with best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and develop intermediate and senior chemical engineers, providing technical guidance and quality oversight
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client specifications and internal quality management systems

  • Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behavior consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental, and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you
  • Contributing to the identification of SHEQ risks and driving processes to achieve Zero Harm
  • Embracing, displaying, and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is always maintained
  • BEng / BSc in Chemical Engineering

  • 15+ years’ experience in chemical engineering design, leadership and project delivery (energy/industrial/process/utility systems)

  • Extensive experience on large‑scale and/or high‑risk projects and recognised technical authority in discipline

  • Professional Registration with ECSA
