The Opportunity

Merivale is looking for experienced chefs to join our teams across established venues and exciting new projects.

We’re recruiting Junior Sous Chefs, Sous Chefs, Senior Sous Chefs and Head Chefs who bring strong cooking skills, sound judgement and a genuine interest in developing the people around them.

Qualifications

The Role

You’ll play a hands-on role in delivering excellent food and creating a kitchen your team is proud to be part of. Depending on the position, you’ll lead a section, guide the wider brigade or take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a kitchen.

You’ll work closely with other chefs to maintain high standards across preparation, service and presentation, while helping your team grow and perform at its best.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have strong experience in a quality restaurant or high-volume kitchen.
• Be confident leading service and maintaining standards under pressure.
• Bring excellent cooking skills and a sharp eye for flavour, consistency and presentation.
• Enjoy coaching chefs and building a capable, supportive team.
• Communicate clearly and work well with chefs, managers and front-of-house teams.
• Take ownership of kitchen organisation, food safety and day-to-day operations.
• Be adaptable, motivated and excited by the opportunity to grow with Merivale.
