We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Senior Ceded Technician to join our London team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key post-placement activity, partnering closely with stakeholders across Placement, Claims, Finance, and external reinsurers.
The Everest Ceded Reinsurance Operations function manages post-placement activities across all reinsurance programmes, ensuring accurate accounting, settlement, and ongoing contract administration. The team works closely with Placement, Contracts, Finance, and external counterparties to ensure the smooth execution of ceded reinsurance obligations.
This role is central to maintaining financial integrity and strong reinsurer relationships.
The position can be based in our London or Warren, New Jersey offices, with the flexibility to work remotely two days a week.
Role Purpose
The Senior Ceded Technician is responsible for delivering post-placement accounting and settlement activities across a range of proportional and non-proportional reinsurance contracts. The role ensures reinsurers are billed accurately and paid on time, while maintaining robust financial records and supporting the ongoing administration of ceded programmes.
Key Accountabilities
Manage ceded reinsurance post-placement activities across proportional and non-proportional contracts
Produce and validate ceded reinsurance accounting extracts and reports
Prepare and issue reinsurer statements, premium remittances, and settlement documentation
Coordinate the settlement of deposit premiums across multi-entity ceding treaties
Calculate and administer adjustment premiums and profit commissions
Support claims-related activity, including issuing cash calls, loss billings, and calculating reinstatement premiums in collaboration with the Global Ceded Claims team
Manage billing, cash collection, and settlement processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution
Reconcile ceded balances and investigate discrepancies
Respond to broker and reinsurer queries related to accounts, billing, and settlements
Support internal stakeholders with coverage and accounting queries
Carry out LORS activities on behalf of the Syndicate
Work closely with Placement and Contracts teams to resolve data, coverage, and wording issues
Support audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements
Professional Experience
Demonstrable experience in reinsurance accounting, operations, or a technical finance role
Experience working within the Lloyd’s and London Market (essential)
Familiarity with reinsurance treaty structures, including proportional and non-proportional arrangements
Understanding of reinsurance settlement processes and lifecycle
Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Solid understanding of reinsurance accounting principles
Ability to manage deadlines and coordinate with multiple counterparties
Clear and professional communication skills
Confident working with financial systems and large datasets
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with XL Pro (highly desirable)
LORS experience (desirable)
