About the Role

At Kraft Heinz, we are transforming procurement into a strategic driver of end-to-end business value. As a Senior Category Manager – Procurement ANZ, you will play a critical role in evolving our function to become a true business partner by delivering commercial impact, innovation, sustainability, and resilience across our supply base. In this role, you’ll lead the development and execution of sourcing.

You’ll also contribute to global category strategies, work cross-functionally to unlock new value opportunities, and ensure Procurement remains agile and future-ready in today’s dynamic macroeconomic and FMCG environment.

Key position responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Drive Category Strategy: Lead the strategic management of assigned high-value packaging categories across Australia and New Zealand, developing and executing category strategies that reflect business priorities, market dynamics, supplier capabilities, and long-term value opportunities.

  • Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Execution: Lead end-to-end sourcing activity from opportunity identification through to implementation, including RFX processes, negotiations, supplier selection, contracting in close collaboration with Legal, and execution of agreed outcomes.

  • Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted strategic partner to senior stakeholders across Commercial, Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and other key functions, influencing decision-making, enabling innovation, supporting growth initiatives, and driving end-to-end value creation.

  • People Leadership & Team Development: Provide thought leadership and constructive challenge to existing practices, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to team member(s), building capability, accountability, engagement, and strong performance, while contributing to an inclusive and collaborative team culture and supporting the development of future procurement talent.

  • Market Intelligence & Risk Management: Build strong understanding of market dynamics, commodity/cost drivers, inflation trends, and supply risks. Translate insights into actions that mitigate risk and enhance resilience.

  • Cost & Value Optimization: Champion the total cost of assigned categories by identifying and implementing novel and creative ways to reduce costs, improve quality, enhance innovation, and improve total value for money.

  • P&L Ownership: Actively manage the spend area’s P&L, including ownership of the annual operating plan and regular forecast updates.

  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Develop collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers to drive performance, innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Establish trust and build effective business relationships with suppliers for long-term partnership.

  • Project Leadership: Manage a pipeline of initiatives across productivity, innovation, sustainability, and risk mitigation. Lead cross-functional teams to implement and track outcomes.

  • ESG & Sustainability Impact: Integrate ESG targets into sourcing strategies and supplier partnerships, contributing to Kraft Heinz’s global sustainability commitments.

  • Performance Management: Monitor and report on procurement performance KPIs, ensuring alignment with business goals and accountability for results.

About you:

  • Proven experience in a similar procurement/category management role, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.

  • Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of sourcing and contracting processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.

  • Experience developing category strategies and leading complex supplier negotiations.

  • Commercial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgets, and forecasting.

  • Strong project management and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated people leadership capability, with experience coaching, developing, and supporting team members to deliver strong results.

  • High resilience, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.

  • Proficiency in Excel and procurement/business systems.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline preferred.
