Join our Social Mission team as a Senior Case Worker, where you’ll play a key role in leading day-to-day service delivery, supporting and developing a team of Case Workers, and ensuring people receive compassionate, recovery-oriented care that makes a real difference.

This is an opportunity to combine your case management expertise with your leadership capabilities to strengthen service delivery, build collaborative partnerships and contribute to improved outcomes for individuals and the community.

About the role

Reporting to the AOD Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of services while providing leadership, guidance and supervision to approximately three Case Workers.

You will help ensure our services reflect our Model of Care, fostering an environment where people are treated with dignity, supported in their recovery and empowered to participate in decisions about their care.

This is a full-time permanent role located in Fyshwick, ACT. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.

How you will make impact

  • Oversee daily operations and ensure high-quality, person-centred AOD support, including case management, assessment, referral and group work.
  • Monitor treatment plans, maintain accurate records and promote continuous improvement.
  • Supervise, coach and train Case Workers, fostering reflective practice, strong performance and staff wellbeing.
  • Strengthen referral pathways and collaborate with community services and sector networks.
  • Promote participant involvement, feedback and service evaluation.
  • Assist with recruitment and represent the service to community organisations and stakeholders.

What you will bring

  • A minimum Diploma-level qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services or a related field, or demonstrated high-level sector knowledge and skills gained through relevant experience, service and professional development.
  • Experience in case management, assessment, referral and client support within a community services or AOD setting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external services.
  • A commitment to person-centred, recovery-oriented practice and continuous service improvement.
  • The ability to coach, guide and support colleagues, with previous staff supervision experience highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to oversee service delivery, maintain accurate documentation and manage competing priorities.
  • A current Driver Licence.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
