Job Description

Critical Work Functions

Lead Facilitating Team in Quality Care and Optimal Student Engagement & Learning

  • Effectively and instinctively use knowledge of domain integration and deeper understanding of programme models to make sound instructional decisions and enrich the existing programme framework
  • Evaluate and monitor effectiveness of programme & activity delivery
  • Lead and guide the team in assessing the care and learning needs of the students and develop programme activities to address these needs for the holistic and optimal development of students
  • Maintain and model for team members, a high level of student engagement in centre activities through planning, facilitating and evaluating quality care and learning experiences and environments for the holistic and optimal development of students
  • Apply appropriate practices and actively seek opportunities to implement them in response to the differentiated needs of students
  • Adopt proactive activity and group management style, promote positive behaviour and manage challenging behaviours by utilising behavioural analysis techniques
  • Organise the environment to meet physical, sensory, intellectual and/or developmental impairments of students and expertly facilitate daily interactions to maximise learning

Facilitate Collaboration & Provide Leadership for Student Engagement & Organisational Effectiveness

  • Proactively plan and actively collaborate with teams and other partners, parents and caregivers, external collaborators and professional experts for effective planning and execution of care plans and appropriate strategies for the students
  • Guide and lead team to ensure student integration of skills and learning in activities
  • Participate or lead in organisational wide activities to achieve Rainbow Centre’s and the unit’s goals and objectives

Develop Self, Innovate for Greater Impact

  • Engage in self-reflective practice and supervision for improved professional practice and delivery
  • Plan, support and provide feedback toward the professional development of team members
  • Lead and participate in initiatives to improve and innovate processes to enhance the care, engagement, learning and development of the students and the functioning of the organization

Job Holder Requirements

  • Minimum “N” Level/3 “O” Level/partial ”A” Level/fresh NITEC with pass in English; relevant degree/diploma will be advantageous

  • Preferably 6 years experience teaching and/or working with students with disabilities

  • Experience working in a student care setting would be a plus
