Job Description

As a Senior Product Specialist supporting the Card Strategy team at SECU, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for the design and implementation of new products and services to the SECU credit card portfolio. You will work with Product and Program Managers both within the Card Strategy team and across the organization to scope, evaluate, and deliver new products, features, and services, always ensuring initiatives are in line with department and overall credit union goals. You will contribute to the success of the credit union’s Card Programs by assisting in strategic planning and roadmap design, planning and execution of projects, communication across the organization, and supporting the core mission of “People Helping People.”

Duties

  • Sources and leverages data to assist in the strategic direction and future initiatives of the credit card portfolio.
  • Evaluates market research along with internal and external trends to identify gaps and areas of improvement to ensure competitiveness, differentiation, and profitability across all card programs.
  • Assesses various processes using both a quantitative and qualitative lens, that impact member experience and supports initiatives focused on their improvement.
  • Participates and contributes to business case justification, budget, and resource requirements.
  • Communicates business requirements across the organization to ensure a clear understanding of scope and impact.
  • Identifies and solves business problems by documenting and refining business requirements, then tests solutions to ensure execution meets the overall vision.
  • Provides project delivery support and serves as a liaison to product and program managers to identify and quickly resolve any potential blockers to project delivery.
  • Leads end-of-project change management efforts by partnering across teams to develop internal and external communication plans in order to ensure their successful delivery.
  • Aggregates data and member feedback from multiple channels to aid in business case development and ongoing reporting of products.
  • Assists with marketing campaign execution to include the creation of marketing plans, documentation, internal awareness & communication, summary & presentation of results, and ideation for future marketing efforts.
  • Manages survey administration that includes regular summarization and presentation of results, observations and recommendations.
  • Supports process & journey mapping efforts that identify inefficiencies & service gaps as well as opportunities to improve member experience.
  • Partners with Card Strategy and Operations resources on day-to-day initiatives with an emphasis on fostering teamwork and compromise, while driving to a common goal.

Experience

Four-year degree with 4 years minimum experience working at a bank, credit union or other financial institution.

OR

Two-year degree with 6 years minimum experience working at a bank, credit union or other financial institution.

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the debit and/or credit card infrastructure and payments landscape.
  • Experience working in large, enterprise level programs/projects, working with multiple projects simultaneously, with varied degrees of complexity and duration.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, financial, and decision-making skills. Ability to take complex data sets and deliver concise recommendations.
  • Experience working in the Product Development Lifecycle within an agile and/or waterfall framework.
  • Strong and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
