We are looking for a Senior C++ Software Developer to join the development of our next-generation family of connected security and access control products. Java experience is not mandatory, but it is considered a strong advantage.
The role will focus primarily on modern C++ software development for our next-generation embedded Linux platform. The engineer may also work with an existing Java software stack, including understanding, adapting, integrating, and, where appropriate, migrating existing Java functionality into the new platform.
You will work closely with platform, BSP, cloud, system architecture, and product teams to build reliable product functionality and to integrate existing and new software into a secure, scalable, and maintainable Linux-based product architecture.
· Software Development - Design, implement, test, and maintain application-level software in modern C++ on embedded Linux.
· Java Integration & Modernization - Where relevant, analyze and adapt existing Java-based components for the new Linux platform, including integration with new platform services and interfaces.
· C++ Development - Develop new modular C++ components and, where required, support migration or redesign of functionality currently implemented in Java.
· System Integration - Integrate application software with Linux platform services, hardware-facing services, cloud connectivity, and companion MCU functionality.
· Software Architecture - Contribute to modular, reusable software design with clear interfaces between application, middleware, and platform layers.
· Quality & Troubleshooting - Perform design and code reviews, debugging, performance analysis, unit/integration testing, and root-cause analysis across complex software flows.
· Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with platform, BSP, hardware, cloud, QA, and system architecture teams throughout the product lifecycle.
· Experience - 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably on Linux or embedded products.
· C++ - Strong programming skills in modern C++ (C++14/17 or later), including object-oriented design, multithreading, synchronization, and event-driven software - mandatory.
· Java - Experience with Java development, particularly existing or legacy Java codebases, is a strong advantage. Experience with OSGi or modular Java architectures is an additional advantage.
· Linux - Hands-on experience developing and debugging applications in Linux environments.
· Software Design - Strong understanding of software architecture, interfaces, design patterns, modularity, and maintainable code.
· Integration - Experience with IPC, networking, REST APIs, messaging, or service-oriented software is an advantage.
· Embedded / IoT - Experience with embedded Linux, connected devices, security systems, or IoT products is an advantage.
· Tools - Experience with Git, CMake/build systems, debugging tools, and modern software engineering practices.
· Problem Solving - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a complex existing codebase.
· English - High proficiency.
