Job Description


This is a remote position.


We’re looking for a
Senior C++ Playback Engineer
to join an international team building high-performance video playback systems for Smart TVs, Set Top Boxes, and Gaming Consoles.


You’ll design and develop
native C++ players
using
GStreamer
, integrate DRM systems (PlayReady, Widevine, FairPlay), and ensure seamless, secure playback experiences across multiple platforms.


What You’ll Do


  • Build and maintain C++-based streaming video players for Smart TVs and consoles

  • Develop and optimize GStreamer-based player plugins

  • Implement DRM encryption and adaptive bitrate (ABR) logic

  • Improve playback performance and reduce time-to-first-frame (TTFF)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally in an Agile environment


Requirements


  • 7+ years of experience with
    C/C++ programming

  • Hands-on experience with
    Smart TV / embedded platform development
    (Roku, FireTV, Tizen, WebOS, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of
    streaming protocols
    (HLS, DASH, CMAF, RTP, LL-HLS)

  • Familiarity with
    FFmpeg
    ,
    GStreamer
    , or
    WebRTC

  • Understanding of
    modern codecs (H.264, H.265, AV1)
    and
    HDR formats (Dolby Vision)

  • Experience integrating
    DRM protection
    and working with
    multilingual audio/subtitles
