Your role

We are looking for a Senior Buyer to manage a portfolio of suppliers and purchasing categories, supporting business continuity, cost competitiveness and supplier performance. The role combines commercial negotiation, supplier management and cross-functional project leadership, with strong interaction with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and other internal stakeholders. The Senior Buyer will be accountable for driving sourcing initiatives from strategy definition through supplier selection, negotiation, implementation and performance follow-up.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of local and international suppliers, acting as the main commercial interface for assigned categories/components.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on price, payment terms, lead time, capacity, tooling, logistics conditions and contractual terms, ensuring competitive and sustainable agreements.
  • Define and execute sourcing strategies in line with business objectives, market trends, technical requirements and supply-risk considerations.
  • Identify, qualify and onboard new suppliers in cooperation with Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain, including second-source and risk-mitigation initiatives.
  • Lead cost-reduction and value-creation projects, including benchmarking, cost breakdown analysis, resourcing, design-to-cost and supplier productivity actions.
  • Own supplier performance reviews and improvement plans, monitoring quality, delivery, service, cost and responsiveness through agreed KPIs.
  • Drive cross-functional projects from business case to implementation, coordinating stakeholders, timelines, actions and decision points.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, translating business and technical needs into clear sourcing actions and priorities.
  • Support new product introduction and industrialization activities by ensuring supplier readiness, commercial alignment and timely sourcing decisions.
  • Manage supply and commercial escalations, ensuring rapid containment, structured root-cause resolution and appropriate stakeholder communication.
  • Prepare and present sourcing recommendations, negotiation outcomes, project status and supplier strategies to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data and contractual/commercial information in company systems and ensure compliance with internal sourcing procedures.
  • Monitor relevant commodity markets, supplier financial health, capacity constraints and geopolitical/supply risks, proposing proactive mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes, tools, reporting and supplier-management practices.

Main requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management or a similar role within a manufacturing / industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation, commercial management and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Strong project-management mindset, with the ability to lead multiple sourcing and supplier-development projects in parallel.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with cost data, quotations, KPIs, business cases and supplier performance metrics.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings and industrial supply chains; an engineering or technical background is a strong advantage.
  • High level of autonomy, ownership, problem solving and ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and SAP is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, suitable for complex negotiations, supplier meetings and management presentations.
  • Availability for occasional domestic and international travel.
