We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer II/III to join our growing manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring material availability, supporting production schedules, and maintaining inventory levels required to meet customer demand.
The Buyer II/III is responsible for the procurement process from sourcing and supplier selection through purchase order management and delivery. This individual will work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Sales, and Field Service teams to ensure materials and components are available to support production requirements and customer commitments.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to build productive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders for production materials, components, and services.
- Conduct supplier sourcing activities, including RFQs, bid evaluations, and supplier selection.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms to achieve cost, quality, and service objectives.
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and monitor supplier performance.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations.
- Analyze market conditions, lead times, pricing trends, and supply risks to support purchasing decisions.
- Resolve supplier quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Inventory Planning & Production Support
- Review MRP requirements daily and execute purchasing activities to support production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Manufacturing and Planning teams to maintain appropriate inventory within established min/max targets.
- Identify and address material shortages, supply disruptions, and inventory imbalances.
- Support demand planning and replenishment activities to ensure continuity of supply.
- Assist with production scheduling activities as required to support customer demand.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate material status, supplier issues, and production impacts to Management, Sales, Operations, Shipping, and Field Service teams.
- Coordinate with Field Service locations to establish realistic delivery commitments and due dates.
- Partner with Quality, Receiving, and Accounts Payable teams to resolve receiving discrepancies, supplier non-conformances, and invoice issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within Procurement and Supply Chain operations.
Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, inventory, and lead-time data within the ERP system.
- Generate and analyze purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance reports.
- Assist with the development and improvement of procurement processes and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Buyer II: 2-5 years of procurement, purchasing, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Buyer III: 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of purchasing principles, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Experience in oil and gas manufacturing, artificial lift equipment, or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP system.
- Experience with LYNQ MES.
- Experience with RF-SMART WMS.
- Knowledge of production planning and inventory control methodologies.
- APICS/ASCM, CPSM, CPM, or related supply chain certification.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in procurement or related discipline.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Ability to gather, relate and summarize information into logical conclusions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Solid project management skills to facilitate project/program compliance
- Highly motivated individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities and working independently.
- Requires advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to use business systems software.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience in responsible supervisory positions is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, planning, administration, and team skills.
- Certification by a recognized professional organization is preferred
