We are looking for a Senior Buyer in our Poeldijk office, Netherlands.

The Senior Buyer for the Netherlands is crucial for our success, guaranteeing year-round high-quality produce, optimising profitability, and driving growth. You'll work at a senior capacity within a high-performing team, develop strategic sourcing, leverage data for best deals, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate on new product opportunities.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to secure high-quality produce, optimise supply, and support business profitability
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers based on quality, reliability, sustainability, and commercial performance
• Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and performance reviews to strengthen strategic partnerships
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and pricing strategies while maintaining quality and service standards
• Collaborate with Quality, CSR, and operational teams to ensure compliance, ethical sourcing, and regulatory adherence
• Lead the development and utilisation of grower profile data to improve sourcing decisions, traceability, and supplier relationships
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities and risks
• Establish and maintain procurement processes, protocols, and best practices across the sourcing function
• Partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to identify new product opportunities and support innovation initiatives
• Deliver procurement reporting, analytics, and business insights to support strategic decision-making and performance improvement

Requirements

• Strong background in Procurement of perishable products.
• Knowledge and experience of fruit or vegetable would be advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Spanish is essential, with additional Dutch fluency being highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the complexities of global supply chains, including import/export regulations and logistics.
• Experience in utilising data analysis to inform strategic sourcing.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional.
• Proven track record of achieving cost savings and optimizing profitability through strategic procurement practices.
• A relevant degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field would be advantageous.
