The Senior Business Systems Specialist acts as a strategic partner bridging business needs and technology solutions. This role combines business analysis, systems expertise, and product management elements to ensure technology—both existing and new—effectively supports business requirements and processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with pharmacy operations and technology, including dispensary workflows, inventory systems, and long-term care integrations. Experience with Kroll is highly preferred, but equivalent experience with other pharmacy or healthcare technology platforms will be considered.
This individual will collaborate with internal business teams and external vendors to assess, define, and implement solutions that drive operational efficiency and innovation. Responsibilities include vendor evaluation, solution design, planning, and managing stakeholder expectations across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities
• Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:
◦ Partner with business teams to understand processes, pain points, and requirements.
◦ Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
◦ Develop process maps and workflows for integrations and customer journeys.
• Systems Expertise & Solution Design:
◦ Assess current technology landscape and identify opportunities for optimization.
◦ Recommend enhancements or new solutions to align with business objectives.
◦ Ensure integration and compatibility with existing systems (e.g., Kroll, inventory, POS, automated dispensing).
• Vendor Evaluation & Management:
◦ Research and evaluate potential vendors and technology solutions.
◦ Lead RFP processes, demos, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
◦ Negotiate and manage vendor relationships to ensure successful delivery.
• Product Management Elements:
◦ Define solution roadmaps and implementation plans.
◦ Collaborate with technical teams to ensure timely and effective deployment.
◦ Monitor performance and adoption of implemented solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
◦ Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
◦ Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years in business systems analysis, product management, or similar roles.
• Strong familiarity with retail pharmacy or healthcare workflows, including dispensary applications, automated dispensing systems, inventory management, and long-term care pharmacy operations.
• Knowledge of pharmacy industry, products, operations, and regulations required.
• Experience with Kroll highly preferred; equivalent experience with other pharmacy technology platforms considered.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Attributes
• Familiarity with healthcare or pharmacy compliance requirements (e.g., PHIPA, PIPEDA).
• Experience leading technology-driven process improvements.
• Comfort with integration concepts (API, HL7/FHIR, data flows).
