The Impact You Will Have in This Role

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will play a critical role in advancing DTCC’s Financial Risk Management technology capabilities across NSCC, GSD, MBSD, and DTC. This role sits within IT FinSight Delivery and will help strengthen the Business Systems Analyst Center of Excellence by improving the quality, clarity, and consistency of requirements across enterprise risk applications.

You will serve as a key bridge between business, product, and technology teams, ensuring complex financial risk requirements are clearly understood, accurately documented, and delivered end-to-end. Your work will directly support higher-quality software delivery, reduce requirement-related defects, improve system resiliency, and enhance the client and user experience across critical risk platforms.

Your Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, users, developers, testers, and architects to gather, analyze, validate, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure user stories meet INVEST and Definition of Ready standards by identifying gaps, dependencies, ambiguities, edge cases, and missed requirements early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between Risk business teams and IT App Development teams, ensuring requirements are aligned across systems, workflows, and end-to-end business processes.
  • Use SQL and data analysis to validate requirements, investigate data scenarios, identify edge cases, and support solution design decisions.
  • Support Financial Risk Management applications related to pricing, credit risk, liquidity risk, clearing operations, and related risk technology functions.
  • Collaborate with development and testing teams to ensure SIT, UAT, test scripts, defect reviews, and acceptance criteria accurately reflect business and system requirements.
  • Contribute to workflow design, process improvement, and documentation standards that improve delivery quality, operability, resilience, and user experience.
  • Help define and standardize non-functional requirements and common approaches for recurring business and technical capabilities.
  • Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities by identifying control gaps, manual processes, and efficiency opportunities.
  • Leverage tools and methodologies such as Jira, SQL interfaces, AWS Q, Kiro, and DTCC Delivery Practices Standards to improve requirements quality, productivity, and delivery outcomes.
  • Align risk and control responsibilities into day-to-day work by proactively identifying, monitoring, mitigating, and escalating risks as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 6-8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role supporting enterprise technology initiatives.

Talent Needed for Success

  • Strong experience supporting Financial Risk Management, Capital Markets, Clearing Operations, Risk Technology, or related financial services domains.
  • Proven ability to gather, analyze, document, and validate complex business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Hands-on SQL experience for data analysis, requirement validation, troubleshooting, and identifying edge cases.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including Jira, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement, and sprint delivery.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and defect triage.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting pricing, credit risk, liquidity risk, margin, collateral, clearing, or regulatory risk applications.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, database concepts, and system-to-system data flows.
  • Experience reviewing or defining non-functional requirements such as performance, resiliency, security, auditability, and operability.
  • Exposure to AWS, AI-enabled productivity tools, or modern technology platforms such as AWS Q, Kiro, Microsoft Copilot, or similar solutions.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement, automation, delivery standards, or a Business Analysis Center of Excellence.
