
Senior Business Systems Analyst (AI / Data Products) – Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Plan and drive business analysis activities that enable AI, data, and analytics solutions to solve complex business problems and improve decision-making.
Partner with data science, AI engineering, and business teams to translate business needs into scalable, production-ready AI and data solutions embedded in enterprise applications and workflows.
Ensure alignment of requirements with enterprise architecture, data governance, and responsible AI principles.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads discovery and requirements gathering for AI/ML and Generative AI use cases aligned with business priorities.
Translates business problems into detailed functional and technical specifications, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and data requirements.
Partners with data scientists and AI/ML engineers to define model inputs, outputs, evaluation metrics, and expected business outcomes.
Analyzes and documents business processes, system integrations, and data flows to support AI-driven solutions.
Facilitates workshops, stakeholder discussions, and design sessions to define and refine AI-enabled capabilities.
Ensures traceability of requirements across the solution lifecycle, including development, testing, and deployment.
Supports model validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and adoption of AI solutions in business workflows.
Collaborates with data stewards and governance teams to ensure compliance with data quality, privacy, and responsible AI standards.
Identifies opportunities for process optimization and automation leveraging AI and advanced analytics.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required.
Master’s degree (MBA, Data Analytics, or related field) preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
8 – 12 years’ related experience; or a Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or equivalent directly related work experience.
Strong experience working on data, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives in enterprise environments.
Working knowledge of machine learning concepts, data pipelines, APIs, and system integrations.
Experience translating complex data-driven problems into business requirements and scalable solutions.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and supporting product delivery lifecycles.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), Databricks, and enterprise analytics tools preferred.
Exposure to Generative AI (LLMs, copilots, prompt-based applications) and AI governance concepts preferred.
