Job Description
Job Scope:
- Lead end-to-end business analysis for software initiatives, driving requirements definition, scope alignment, and stakeholder decision-making to deliver business value.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements for development team for solution design and delivery.
- Support AI and automation initiatives by defining business requirements, identifying high-value use cases, and aligning stakeholders on expected outcomes.
- Produce high-quality documentation including:
- Business requirement specification (BRS)
- Functional specification document (FSD)
- Use case and user story
- Process flow and workflow
- Wireframe and prototype where applicable
- Test plan and user acceptance test case
- Manage stakeholders across business user, technical, regional, and vendor teams to align on priorities, timelines, dependencies, and delivery expectations.
- Work closely with Project Managers to manage new requirement scope, change requests and ensure requirement traceability.
- Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, test script preparation, defect tracking and end user coordination.
- Support rollout readiness, implementation activities and business adoption.
- Mentor junior Business Analyst and contribute knowledge sharing and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst in retail, digital transformation and software development projects.
- Strong skills in requirements analysis, process modelling and solution documentation standard.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, stakeholder management across business and technical team and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, workstreams, and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with Waterfall and Agile / Scrum methodology.
- Familiar with API testing tools like Postman and bug management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Cantonese would be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in eCommerce, retail, CRM, customer service, digital transformation, or supply chain environments would be an added advantage.
- Exposure to AI and automation initiatives, including the ability to translate business use cases into business and functional requirements, would be an added advantage.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with required travel to retail locations and warehouses.
- Standard business hours, with occasional weekend or public holiday support for critical releases, incidents, or deployments.
Key Performance Expectations
The Senior Business Analyst will be measured on the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of business analysis deliverables, stakeholder management, project support, and compliance with governance standards. Performance expectations include:
- Delivering BA deliverables and project documentation on time in alignment with agreed project milestones.
- Producing high-quality, complete, and traceable requirements with minimal rework and low requirement-related defects.
- Supporting scope control by reducing change requests caused by incomplete or unclear requirements.
- Maintaining strong stakeholder satisfaction through effective communication, facilitation, and requirements management.
- Ensuring UAT readiness, requirements traceability, and smooth implementation support.
- Maintaining complete and audit-ready BA documentation in compliance with project governance requirements.
- Identifying business risks, dependencies, and impact areas across assigned projects.
- Contributing to process improvement, automation, and AI-related initiatives through business analysis support and use case development.
- Supporting team capability development through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and contribution to BA best practices.
