We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Support Lead to play a pivotal role in strengthening delivery discipline, coordination, and performance across our North region.

This is a highly influential role suited to someone who thrives in complex, fast‑moving environments and enjoys bringing structure, momentum, and clarity to leadership initiatives. You’ll work closely with the North Leadership Team and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure key priorities, projects, and improvement initiatives progress smoothly from concept through to delivery.

The Opportunity | Te kōwhiringa

As the Senior Business Support Lead – North, you’ll provide structured coordination, systems governance, and hands‑on project support across the region. This role goes beyond tracking actions you’ll actively contribute to delivery, remove barriers, and help leaders stay focused on what matters most.

You’ll act as a central connector between leadership, operations, support functions, and business development teams, ensuring information flows effectively and commitments are turned into outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage North Leadership Team initiatives and agreed regional priorities
  • Track actions, milestones, risks, and progress to ensure visibility and timely delivery
  • Actively contribute to progressing projects — not just reporting on them
  • Provide structured coordination across Zero Harm, Finance, People & Culture, Capability, and Operations
  • Maintain project registers, dashboards, and documentation aligned to regional priorities
  • Act as the regional CRM (Dynamics) superuser, ensuring data quality, system integrity, and user support
  • Support bid and pre‑positioning activities, including pipeline visibility and CRM inputs
  • Where required, contribute to tender documentation, non‑price attributes, and supporting content
  • Support internal and external communications, success stories, and award submissions
  • Champion collaboration, consistency, and continuous improvement across the North region
  • Embed Zero Harm and sustainability considerations into all initiatives and decisions

About you

You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable operating at both strategic and detail levels. You naturally bring clarity to complexity, enjoy enabling others to succeed, and take pride in seeing work through to completion.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in business support, operations coordination, or project support roles
  • Strong project coordination or project management capability in complex environments
  • High confidence using CRM systems (Dynamics experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders and functions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience contributing to written business content such as tenders, proposals, reports, or award submissions
  • A delivery‑focused mindset with a high level of initiative, resilience, and accountability
  • A collaborative style and the ability to build trust at all levels of the business

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in business administration, project management, or a related discipline
  • Exposure to infrastructure, construction, or large operational environments
