The Global Partner GTM, Programs, & Operations (GPO) organization within SME&C brings together the go-to-market strategy, programs, and platforms to accelerate growth and improve partner experience across all partner segments.

Within the GPO organization, the Partner Experiences & Operations (PX&O) team is accountable for enabling partner program strategy, design, launch, landing, and performance. Critical to this is our end-user partner and field experiences – this is where humans and technology come tother to interact, transact, and get work done. As our ecosystem thrives, we evolve to keep up with the needs of hundreds of thousands of partners and millions of unique users who will engage with Microsoft across this digital estate.

Microsoft supports a large & complex ecosystem of partners through technology and tools designed to simplify the complexities of our global business. We do this by maintaining an obsession with experiences that can be easily understood & traversed by our partners. We need a seasoned technical program leader capable of envisioning, scoping, and driving end-to-end engineering execution through ongoing delivery cycles — bridging business strategy, platform architecture, and partner experience.

The Senior Business Program Manager will lead technical program management across a diverse platform portfolio — defining scope and roadmap, partnering with engineering on architecture and delivery, instrumenting telemetry and quality, and shepherding releases that bring our partner’s digital experiences to life.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end program leadership for the partner experience platform, translating business strategy into delivery roadmaps and driving execution from concept through implementation.

Lead planning and prioritization of strategic business needs through engineering teams to deliver impactful partner experiences and business outcomes.

Envision and drive partner experience requirements that support the scale and evolution of Microsoft’s partner ecosystem and revenue goals.

Partner closely with engineering leadership to influence platform architecture decisions, delivery sequencing, and technical tradeoffs that balance business outcomes, partner experience, and long-term maintainability.

Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across business, engineering, design, operations, and partner stakeholders to accelerate time-to-market and improve partner experience.

Collaborate on the design and evolution of digital experiences at scale, working at the intersection of business strategy, partner needs, and technical execution.

Define success measures, business outcomes, and performance indicators for programs, leveraging telemetry, customer feedback, and data insights to drive continuous improvement.

Leverage AI tools, stakeholder research, and data analysis to identify emerging opportunities, prioritize investments, and shape future platform direction.

Drive portfolio planning and prioritization across partner experience investments, balancing business impact, customer needs, technical feasibility, and operational readiness.

Lead end-to-end program execution across platform modernization initiatives, including platform migrations, experience enhancements, AI capabilities, and operational improvements.

Translate strategic goals into actionable delivery plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.

Own program-level risk management and drive alignment on mitigation plans across stakeholders and partner teams.Manage complex vendor engagements, including SOW oversight, deliverables, cost tracking, and performance management.

Drive accountability across vendors and internal teams to ensure delivery against business commitments, timelines, quality standards, and experience goals.

Partner with engineering and quality teams to validate business and partner outcomes, ensuring delivered solutions meet experience objectives.

Champion compliance with privacy, accessibility, security, and Secure Future Initiative requirements throughout the program lifecycle.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency across tools, workflows, governance processes, and team operating models.

Develop deep partnerships and influence without authority across multiple organizations and senior leaders.

Leverage industry expertise, platform knowledge, and business acumen to serve as a trusted advisor across stakeholders and leadership teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale business, platform, digital experience, or transformation programs in a technology environment.
  • Experience translating complex business opportunities into simple, effective, and scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable business outcomes through data-driven decision making, objectives, and key results.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and strategic alignment skills in highly matrixed organizations.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and driving alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Operational rigor in driving execution, tracking progress, managing risks, and delivering against commitments.
  • Subject matter expertise in digital experience platforms, content management systems, web properties, or platform ecosystems.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms and the ability to identify emerging business and technology trends.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle concepts and experience partnering with engineering organizations.
  • Experience with accessibility, compliance, privacy, and security initiatives, including Secure Future Initiative practices.
  • Experience applying AI tools to stakeholder research, business analysis, program management, and operational excellence.
  • Experience defining success metrics, business KPIs, performance measurement frameworks, and telemetry-informed decision making.
  • Vendor management and contract/SOW oversight experience.
  • Strong analytical, operational, and executive communication skills.
  • Agile, collaborative leadership style with a demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries and functional disciplines.

Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
