For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

As a Senior Business Operations Coordinator supporting the Optum Behavioral Health team you will be working with multiple psychologists and physicians and their seasoned administrative staff to ensure that peer reviews are scheduled, and psychological testing requests are routed and/or authorized within compliance turnaround time requirements. This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 1 - 2 weeks of paid training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Using the telephone, electronic calendar, and proprietary member databases to schedule clinical peer reviews for a centralized team of psychologist and physician reviewers
  • These tasks require a detail-oriented individual who is highly motivated and has the ability to work quickly and accurately in computer-based systems
  • You will engage with a variety of providers and their administrative staff via phone to schedule reviews that need to occur within strict time guidelines
  • This position requires fluency with translating one time zone to another when scheduling and tenacity to resolve issues related to requests and scheduling
  • A willingness to learn new systems and take on new tasks as requested by management is essential
  • Routing psychological testing requests and/or creating administrative authorizations in proprietary systems within compliance turnaround time requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience working in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties
  • Ability to navigate a computer while on the phone
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and shift focus quickly without loss of attention to detail
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining accountable for meeting deadlines
  • Ability to remain focused and productive each day, completing tasks that may be repetitive
  • Ability to accurately work with scheduling across various time zones
  • Proficiency and comfort with computers, Windows systems, and Microsoft Office Suites, including the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to speak, listen using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard and mouse, and long periods working at a computer
  • Ability to work an 8-hour shift during the normal business hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST, Monday - Friday.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with insurance, specifically behavioral health benefits
  • Experience working as a telecommuter and learning new skills remotely
  • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements
  • Knowledge of state and federal peer review turn-around-time requirements and state sign-off requirements
  • Experience working with Salesforce
  • Proficiency with LINX, ICUE, and STAR

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $18.00 - $32.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
