About us

As a senior member of our Business Intelligence team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how data and reporting are used across the organisation. You’ll help ensure that high-quality, accessible information is at the heart of decision-making, enabling teams to act with confidence and clarity.

This is a highly visible role where your technical expertise in Power BI will be combined with strong stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to rapidly understand their needs, translate them into clear reporting solutions, and deliver intuitive dashboards and insights that add real value.

Working collaboratively, you’ll lead requirements gathering sessions, often building solutions live with stakeholders to ensure outputs are practical, accurate, and fit for purpose. You’ll also support and mentor analysts within the team, helping to drive consistency and best practice across reporting.

As a trusted expert, you’ll build strong relationships across the organisation, ensuring teams have the insights they need to make informed decisions. You’ll act as a go-to specialist for resolving issues and driving improvements in our BI environment, and step in to support leadership when required.

What You’ll Do:

As a senior member of the Business Intelligence team, you’ll be our “go to” person for issues that need resolving or solutions finding on BI systems such as Power BI. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality, reliable reporting supports decision-making across the organisation.

You’ll be seen as a subject matter expert in Power BI, responsible for designing and delivering accurate, user-friendly solutions that meet business needs. Working closely with stakeholders at all levels, you’ll translate requirements into effective reporting, lead discussions, and present insights clearly and confidently. You’ll also support the wider team stepping in to lead when required, maintaining strong standards around data quality, governance, and documentation, and ensuring all outputs are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with defined business rules.

This is a role for someone who wants to take ownership and make a visible impact. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how reporting evolves across the organisation, suggesting improvements, supporting key projects, and enhancing how data is used day-to-day.

You’ll build strong relationships across the business, act as the go-to expert for resolving complex BI challenges, and help ensure our Power BI environment runs effectively from optimising queries to managing capacity and access. If you’re motivated by driving better decisions through data, influencing stakeholders, and continuously improving how reporting is delivered, this is a genuinely exciting opportunity to step into a senior, high-impact role.

Financial Ombudsman Service

About Financial Ombudsman Service

We’ve been sorting out complaints between financial businesses and their customers since we were set up by Parliament in 2001. Our service is free for consumers, and every year well over 1 million people contact us with queries and complaints about all kinds of financial products and services, for example:

o bank accounts, payments and cards

o payment protection insurance (PPI)

o home, car, travel and other types of insurance

o loans and other credit, like car finance

o debt collection and repayment problems

o mortgages

o financial advice, investments and pensions

If a financial business and a consumer can’t resolve a complaint themselves, we’ll investigate and give an unbiased answer about what has happened. If we decide someone has been treated unfairly, we’ll use our legal powers to put things right.

When we decide a financial business has behaved unfairly, we tell them what they should do to put things right. And when we don’t uphold a complaint, we help give people a better understanding of why a business has acted in the way they have. Our work is often challenging, but it makes a real difference to people’s lives.

Working for us means you’ll get the satisfaction of helping others, and helping to make the financial sector fairer. Our staff tell us that they’re proud of the work they do, helping to put things right. What we do here makes a positive difference every day.
