Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join our client, a content creation company specializing in the food industry. This is an onsite position based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Identify potential clients and business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach.
  • Present and sell marketing solutions to prospective clients, tailoring proposals to meet clients' needs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capture them.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and production teams to create compelling advertising solutions.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales pitches and proposals.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximise profitability while meeting client expectations.
  • Close sales deals and ensure smooth handover to the account management team.
  • Analyse sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on progress toward sales goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to integrate social media strategies with overall marketing efforts.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of overall sales strategies.
  • Coordinate team outputs to ensure that contract deliverables are met.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in sales strategies and processes.
  • Experiment with new platforms, tools, and techniques to drive sales and growth.
  • Represent the company professionally while engaging clients and at industry events as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, media contacts, and industry influencers.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Min. 3-5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within the media advertising industry.
  • Strong understanding of various media platforms (digital, print, broadcast, etc.) and advertising solutions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to identify and develop unique advertising solutions.
  • Resilient with the ability to handle objections and challenges in the sales process.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales tools.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Conversational language skills (English, Bahasa Melayu), Mandarin (not a must).
