Senior Business Developer - Global Industrialization, Middle East & Africa – Dubai, UAE

We empower our people to stay resilient and relevant in a constantly evolving world. We’re looking for people who are always searching for creative ways to grow and learn. People who want to make a real impact, now and in the future. Does that sound like you? Then it seems like you’d make an outstanding addition to our vibrant international team.

Siemens Digital Industries is a leading innovator in automation and digitalization. Our mission is to support customers in maximizing growth, profit opportunities and ecological footprint in the discrete and process industries. Ready to create your own journey?

In this role you will connect priority Chinese industrial customers investing in Middle East & Africa and relevant Chinese EPC/OEM participation in their industrial projects – with the Siemens network, converting locally detected project and ecosystem signals into scalable DI growth across their Global Industrial Journeys.

About the role

Chinese industrial champions are increasingly expanding beyond traditional export: building factories, localizing supply chains, acquiring companies and creating industrial ecosystems across the world. DI S GED - Global Export Development - is being established to help Siemens Digital Industries follow these Global Industrial Journeys, detect and qualify meaningful signals, connect the right Siemens capabilities around them, and turn cross-border complexity into coordinated and scalable growth.

Based in Dubai, you will be the GED geographic orchestration node for Middle East & Africa. You will follow priority Chinese industrial customers and their relevant industrial/project ecosystems across MEA, detect destination-market signals that materially affect those journeys, and connect the appropriate Siemens Countries, Verticals, Technology Units/Domains and GED network. The role is not a China desk and does not promote Chinese EPCs/OEMs into unrelated local projects.

The role does not replace Country/account commercial ownership. GED creates journey visibility and orchestrates growth; the established commercial organization owns and closes the business. The successful candidate will combine business-development instinct, industrial/customer understanding, ecosystem connectivity and the ability to orchestrate across organizational boundaries without formal authority.

CRITICAL BOUNDARY: A Journey Signal may be detected anywhere, but in FY27 it must relate to the Global Industrial Journey of a priority Chinese industrial champion/customer or a relevant China-connected industrial ecosystem. GED does not use locally detected signals as a mandate to pursue unrelated local opportunities or to favor Chinese ecosystem players over other partners.

How you will make an impact with us

Detect and qualify MEA journey and project signals

  • Identify industrial investments, project developments, localization moves, EPC participation and ecosystem changes related to priority Chinese industrial customers in Middle East & Africa.
  • Detect destination-market signals that may emerge first in MEA - such as investment timing, project structures, end-customer decisions or relevant EPC/OEM involvement - and connect them into the end-to-end customer journey.
  • Translate early or ambiguous project/ecosystem intelligence into qualified DI opportunity hypotheses.

Orchestrate customer and ecosystem activation.

  • Mobilize the relevant MEA Country/account teams, China GJOs/GED nodes, Verticals and TUs/Domains around priority customer journeys.
  • Create transparency on customer intent, project structures, decision networks, relevant ecosystem relationships and next-best actions.
  • Preserve Siemens neutrality among ecosystem players and respect existing customer, project and opportunity ownership.

Enable wins, replication and the GED system

  • Support commercial teams in converting qualified journey signals into pipeline, lighthouse pursuits and measurable DI impact.
  • Capture successful customer/project patterns and replicate them across Countries and relevant industrial journeys.
  • Contribute actively to GED data, qualification, orchestration, learning and digital capabilities.

Your defining qualities

Experience & skills

  • Strong experience in industrial business development, sales, EPC/project development, key-account development or strategy in complex B2B environments.
  • Good understanding of Middle East industrial/project ecosystems; wider Africa exposure is an advantage.
  • Experience with EPCs, infrastructure, energy/resources, industrial manufacturing or large investment projects is highly valuable.
  • China-related business, Chinese industrial-customer/EPC experience or cross-border industrial investment exposure is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate multi-party ecosystems and orchestrate across Countries, functions and organizational levels without formal authority.
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to convert strategic signals into concrete pursuit actions and measurable impact.

Ways of working - the GED DNA

  • Curious: actively searches for weak signals, customer intent and the connections others may not yet see.
  • Entrepreneurial: creates structure and momentum in ambiguity rather than waiting for a mature process.
  • Connected: builds trusted relationships across customers, ecosystems, Countries and the wider Siemens network.
  • Collaborative: enables existing commercial and functional organizations to win; works without territorial behavior.
  • Orchestrating: mobilizes stakeholders across boundaries without relying on formal authority.
  • Scaling: turns individual wins and lessons into reusable patterns, playbooks and next-site / next-country opportunities.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English. Arabic and/or Mandarin Chinese are strong advantages.

A three-dimensional mandate

  • Journey Hat - own or contribute to selected priority Global Industrial Journeys. GJO assignment is based on where a journey can best be understood and orchestrated, not on fixed geography.
  • Geography Hat - detect and qualify relevant journey signals in Middle East & Africa and activate the Siemens ecosystem around those journeys.
  • Capability Hat - steward or contribute to one shared GED foundational capability such as journey intelligence/data, qualification, orchestration methodology, patterning/replication, knowledge/capability development or digital enablement.

What success looks like

  • Priority Chinese customer journeys in MEA are visible earlier, including relevant signals first detected in destination markets.
  • Relevant Chinese and local/global Siemens networks are connected faster around qualified customer opportunities.
  • Commercial teams gain actionable pipeline and lighthouse pursuits rather than unstructured intelligence.
  • Successful customer/project patterns are learned and replicated across Countries.
  • GED is experienced as an orchestrator that accelerates existing organizations while remaining neutral among ecosystem players.

About DI S GED

DI S GED - Global Export Development - is a new global team designed to create and scale Siemens DI growth from customers' Global Industrial Journeys. China2World is the initial FY27 strategic growth motion. The mechanism follows the journey wherever relevant signals are detected, while preserving a clear boundary: locally detected signals must relate to priority Chinese industrial champions/customers or relevant China-connected industrial ecosystems. GED creates journey visibility and orchestrates growth; Country/account organizations retain customer and commercial ownership and close the business.

Working logic: Journey Signal → Qualify → Orchestrate → Activate → Win → Learn → Replicate

Ambition: One Customer • One Journey • One Siemens.

You’ll benefit from

  • 2 to 3 days of mobile working per week as a global standard.
  • Diverse and inclusive culture.
