We are looking for a Senior Business Credit Analyst to provide senior-level underwriting, portfolio management, and analytical support for complex commercial lending relationships, with a focus on commercial real estate, construction financing, syndications, and other specialized credit structures. If you bring strong credit expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for supporting sound lending decisions, we'd like to hear from you.

What's the role?

As a Senior Business Credit Analyst, you will support the Business Banking team by preparing complex credit submissions, conducting detailed financial analysis, structuring lending solutions, and assisting with the ongoing management of a sophisticated commercial lending portfolio.

Working closely with the VP, Real Estate & Syndications, Business Relationship Managers, Commercial Credit Risk, Commercial Administration, and other internal and external partners, you will help facilitate sound credit decisions, mitigate risk, and support the delivery of exceptional member solutions.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation of credit applications for complex commercial lending relationships, including real estate, construction and development financing, syndications, and other specialized credit structures.
  • Completing in-depth financial analysis, cash flow modelling, feasibility assessments, covenant analysis, stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to support credit recommendations.
  • Partnering with Business Relationship Managers and internal stakeholders to structure lending solutions that align with policy, risk appetite, and member needs.
  • Evaluating borrower strength, guarantor support, project viability, market conditions, and security positions for complex lending transactions.
  • Supporting syndication opportunities through analysis of participation structures, lender requirements, and deal terms.
  • Managing annual reviews, renewals, amendments, construction monitoring, and ongoing portfolio maintenance activities.
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, covenant compliance, delinquency trends, and emerging risk indicators.
  • Coordinating documentation, funding requirements, and conditions precedent with internal departments, syndication partners, legal counsel, and other external stakeholders.
  • Supporting construction draws, project monitoring, and reporting requirements for real estate development and construction lending relationships.
  • Preparing portfolio reporting and recommendations to support effective risk management and decision-making.
  • Mentoring Business Credit Analysts through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and best practice development.

What are we looking for?

  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in commercial lending, credit underwriting, or business banking, including experience with complex commercial real estate lending and construction financing.
  • Strong expertise in financial analysis, credit adjudication, risk assessment, and structuring complex commercial lending solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial real estate development financing, syndication structures, legal documentation requirements, and portfolio risk management practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex borrowing relationships and develop sound credit recommendations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Ideally, you are a detail-oriented and collaborative credit professional with:

  • Advanced financial analysis and underwriting capabilities.
  • Experience supporting commercial real estate development and construction financing relationships.
  • Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of syndicated lending structures and complex commercial credit arrangements.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues and contributing to team development and knowledge sharing.
  • A commitment to balancing member service, portfolio growth, and prudent risk management.

If you're an analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with others, and supporting sound business decisions, you'll be a great fit with us.
