From the CANAL+ office in Luxemburg the activities for Austria, Belgium, Czech, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and SPI are being coordinated.

Job Objective

Considering a centralized operating model and having commercial presence in multiple countries, the Business Unit Controller will support specific country management as well as certain centralized functional areas from a financial perspective. She/he will work in a true international team, while having close contact with several countries within the Canal+ Benelux Central Europe footprint

The position is based in Luxembourg and reports to the Canal+ B&CE’s VP Finance & Data.

Your responsibilities

  • Business planning coordination and support (LongTermPlan/budget/Latest estimates)
  • Business case analysis and support in the context of TV content.
  • Preparation of monthly business/financial performance report including risk and opportunities
  • Content costs controlling and analysis
  • Contribution to products margin analysis across countries and platforms.
  • Participation in monthly closing process
  • Contributing actively in business development and business improvement projects
  • Investment analysis and financial assessments
  • Ensure proper systems and processes are implemented for accurate and timely reporting
  • Make suggestions for improvements to the monthly and weekly reporting processes
  • Support in annual audit processes
  • Actively advice management on business improvements and assist in execution Propose best-practice improvements within business controlling team

Skills and Experience

  • Master in Finance or Economics and/or relevant experience in financial controlling and business analysis.
  • Minimum 5 years’ to 7 years’ experience in business controlling, preferably in media sector
  • Proven track record in data management and developing reporting platforms (BI preferred)
  • Full proficiency in Excel, including Power Query
  • Strong analytical skill sets and fast learner
  • Accurate and quick
  • People oriented and Team player
  • Able to communicate transparently both verbally as well as in writing (English fluently, all other European language will be considered as an asset)
