Job Description

GCyber is seeking a Senior Business Analyst – Software Development, to support a high visibility federal IT modernization effort that is building and integrating secure digital capabilities in a classified environment. The program uses an Agile delivery model and a technology environment centered on ServiceNow, Elastic, AWS, Red Hat, and supporting integration technologies such as Kafka. The Senior Business Analyst will connect mission stakeholders with the delivery team, ensuring that customer needs become clear, testable, and traceable software and data requirements.

As the Senior Business Analyst, you will

  • Elicit, analyze, and translate business, operational, user, data, and system needs into clear requirements, functional specifications, epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate working sessions with customers, product owners, subject matter experts, developers, testers, cybersecurity personnel, and operational teams.
  • Document current-state processes and partner with stakeholders to design practical future-state workflows.
  • Manage requirements and user stories in Jira and maintain traceability through design, development, testing, deployment, and acceptance.
  • Support data extraction, cleansing, transformation, metadata, data dictionaries, reporting, analytics, and data-quality remediation.
  • Author and peer review functional, technical, training, planning, roadmap, and governance documentation.
  • Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, user acceptance testing, and release readiness activities.
  • Support solutions and integrations involving ServiceNow, AWS, and connected enterprise systems.
  • Lead requirements discovery and process-design activities for complex, cross-functional capabilities and integrations.
  • Resolve conflicting stakeholder needs, identify dependencies and risks, and drive decisions needed to keep delivery moving.
  • Establish analysis, documentation, traceability, data-governance, and acceptance standards for the team.
  • Mentor analysts and review requirements packages for completeness, clarity, technical feasibility, and testability.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any additional customer suitability approvals required for the position.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT II (i.e., Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
  • Early-stage flexibility with partial telework during initial development phases
  • Full-time on-site presence at secure facility in Washington, DC will be required as the program matures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, security, and customer teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Eight to twelve years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading business and systems analysis for large software, data, integration, or digital transformation efforts.
  • Advanced experience decomposing complex needs into epics, features, stories, acceptance criteria, interfaces, data rules, and business processes.
  • Experience briefing customer leaders, resolving competing priorities, and guiding analysts and multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ServiceNow applications such as TSM, TNI, OMT, TSOM, or ITSM.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, AWS, ServiceNow, SAFe, Kanban, ITIL, DevSecOps, or CI/CD environments.
  • Experience supporting data governance, master data, integrations, reporting, dashboards, or migration from legacy applications.
  • Relevant certification such as PMI-PBA, CBAP, CCBA, ITIL, SAFe, or Scrum Product Owner.
