The Role


We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team within MUFG Retirement Solutions. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, business leaders, cross-functional teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure business and technical requirements are captured, documented, and delivered across the full project lifecycle.

You will play a key part in shaping analysis practices, supporting continuous improvement across the Portfolio and Squad teams, and contributing to a culture of collaboration, quality, and delivery excellence. Your ability to navigate ambiguity, lead workshops, influence stakeholders, and produce high-quality documentation will be essential to your success.


Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

  • Lead the definition of business problems by conducting in‑depth analysis across technical and non‑technical inputs.
  • Develop clear, detailed business and technical requirements ensuring solutions meet objectives and quality standards.
  • Maintain full traceability from requirements through development and testing.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather, validate, and prioritise requirements.
  • Analyse data to validate opportunities, inform decision‑making, and support business cases.
  • Model business processes and identify improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
  • Assess impacted systems to determine required changes and guide developers on key considerations for accurate build.
  • Produce high‑quality documentation including Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and screen flows.
  • Manage and maintain requirement artefacts to build organisational knowledge and support future project work.
  • Analyse backlogs to identify synergies and improve efficiency across projects and workstreams.
  • Contribute to and facilitate BA Centre of Excellence discussions and uplift initiatives.
  • Support and/or lead functional testing activities, ensuring evidence, documentation, and strong traceability are maintained.
  • Develop business‑level user acceptance criteria and support business readiness activities to ensure smooth BAU transition.
  • Collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to review priorities and ensure alignment.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to team members, modelling strong communication and collaboration.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, and champion strong RAID management practices.
  • Provide recommendations for portfolio‑level improvements, efficiency gains, and enhanced delivery outcomes.

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • 5+ years Technical Business Analyst experience, covering both business and technical requirements.
  • Strong grounding in project management fundamentals (estimation, planning, resource management, risk & issue management, communications).
  • Experience with project management and scheduling tools.
  • Proficiency creating reports, charts, and presentations for executive stakeholders.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office, ServiceNow, Jira, and SharePoint
  • Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies
  • Ability to work confidently across multiple business and technical teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting to both large and small groups.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change.
  • Testing experience will be highly advantageous.
  • Highly self‑driven, collaborative, and able to navigate
