OptumRx is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support our Star reporting strategy, with a focus on Part D measures. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering advanced analytics, reporting, and performance measurements that support Medicare Part D Star Ratings improvement initiatives. This role transforms complex healthcare data into actionable insights that help identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and drive data-informed strategies to improve Star Ratings outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Stars reporting and analytics for Medicare clients, including recurring reporting deliverables and ad hoc data requests
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and assist in documenting functional and/or technical needs
  • Analyze Stars performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in maintaining and improving reporting processes and workflows
  • Create basic visualizations and reports using BI tools for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Help document reporting processes, data sources, and methodologies to support team knowledge sharing
  • Review CMS technical manuals and guidance to support reporting updates and compliance

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data analysis, healthcare, or a related field (or internship/academic equivalent)
  • Beginner level of proficiency with Excel (formulas, Pivot Tables, basic data manipulation)
  • Beginner level of proficiency with SQL or querying data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau (academic or project experience acceptable)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to team members
  • Exposure to healthcare, Medicare, managed care, or PBM industry
  • Experience working with the Part D Medicare Star Rating Program
  • Interest in data visualization, reporting automation, and process improvement
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
