Senior Business Analyst – Medical Analytics

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst – Medical Analytics to join our growing analytics team in Lisbon. This is a unique opportunity to partner with Medical Affairs leaders across both our BioPharmaceuticals and Oncology businesses, delivering strategic insights that influence decision-making, optimise engagement strategies, and demonstrate the impact of Medical Affairs activities worldwide.

As a trusted analytical partner, you will work closely with Medical Affairs stakeholders to transform business questions into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
Deliver data-driven insights that inform Medical Affairs strategy, planning, and resource allocation
Design and implement performance measurement frameworks that assess engagement quality, content effectiveness, channel optimisation, and strategic outcomes
Develop and evolve KPI frameworks aligned with Medical Affairs priorities and business objectives
Conduct impact assessments to evaluate the effectiveness and value of Medical initiatives
Identify trends, opportunities, and performance drivers across therapeutic areas, customer segments, and regions
Partner with Medical Affairs leaders to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical requirements
Bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery teams
Define meaningful business questions and ensure analytical solutions provide actionable answers
Challenge assumptions and propose pragmatic solutions where requirements are unclear or data limitations exist
Lead quarterly business reviews, providing clear insight into performance, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions
Deliver ad-hoc strategic analyses to support senior leadership decision-making
Collaborate with Commercial Analytics, Clinical Development, and Data & Advanced Analytics teams to align methodologies and leverage enterprise capabilities
Share insights and best practices across functions to strengthen organisational learning
Explore opportunities to leverage AI and advanced analytics to accelerate insight generation and predictive capabilities
Identify automation opportunities that improve efficiency and analytical effectiveness
Champion data quality and integrity through robust validation and governance practices
Evaluate emerging analytical tools and approaches that can enhance Medical Affairs decision-making
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
Significant analytical experience with a proven ability to translate business questions into structured analytical approaches
Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences industry
Demonstrated track record of delivering insights that have influenced business decisions and strategic direction
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills within matrix organisations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Medical Affairs experience, including customer engagement, omnichannel strategy, content effectiveness, or evidence generation
Experience working across multiple therapeutic areas or business units in a global organisation
Knowledge of performance measurement and impact assessment methodologies
Exposure to business intelligence, analytics, or decision-support environments
Experience gathering and translating stakeholder requirements into analytical solutions

Database querying and data exploration skills
Strong understanding of KPI design, performance measurement, and business analytics
Statistical literacy and analytical rigour
Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics, automation, and predictive approaches
Knowledge of Python, R, or similar analytical tools is advantageous
Ability to connect data insights to business strategy and organisational priorities
Strong commercial and pharmaceutical industry awareness
Critical thinking and curiosity to challenge assumptions and uncover new opportunities
