What you'll be doing

The Senior Business Analyst, Finance Controllership, reporting to the Director, Controller on the Banking Wealth Corporate Controllership team, is a senior individual contributor role focused on managing the day-to-day project activities of a medium complexity project(s), supporting business initiatives, finance transformation, and change delivery that impacts financial reporting, accounting processes, and the control environment. The role provides controllership and accounting advisory support for projects involving process changes, system implementations, automation, and new business capabilities. Working closely with partners across Finance, Technology, Operations, and the business, the Senior Business Analyst will help define Finance requirements, solutions, assess impacts to the general ledger and downstream reporting to support effective and well-controlled implementation outcomes. The role will contribute to end-to-end Finance process reviews, including process documentation, identification of reporting and control impacts, support for requirements analysis and testing, and Finance input into implementation activities and sign-off. The Senior Business Analyst supports process improvement initiatives that strengthen controls, improve data quality, and enhance efficiency across the reporting cycle.

The Senior Business Analyst will also work closely with cross-functional teams to support reporting, analysis, issue resolution, and process improvement initiatives. The role contributes to informed decision-making by providing high-quality financial insights and practical recommendations. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in controllership or financial reporting and is comfortable working in project-based and change-oriented environments that impact Finance processes and controls.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Controllership Advisory – You provide timely guidance on accounting and financial reporting requirements for business initiatives and process changes. You partner with stakeholders to clearly identify Finance requirements, reporting impacts, and control considerations early in project delivery.
  • Transformation Delivery – You translate Finance needs and contribute to requirements and help assess impacts to accounting, reporting, and controls. You contribute to Finance testing activities, test scenarios, results, and issue resolution. You support Finance sign-off activities to ensure reporting functionality, data integrity, and control effectiveness are maintained through implementation.
  • Risk and Issue Management – You apply critical thinking to understand end-to-end processes, identify gaps or defects, assess risks, and recommend practical, well-controlled solutions. You escalate issues, as appropriate, to support delivery and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Management – You build productive working relationships across Finance, Technology, Operations, Risk, Audit, and business teams. You communicate issues, decisions, and recommendations clearly to support alignment and successful project outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement – You identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve process efficiency, and enhance data quality across Finance and reporting processes.

Who You Are

  • You’re a certified professional. You have a CPA designation or equivalent and are in good standing, with 7+ years of relevant work experience in controllership, financial reporting, accounting, or finance transformation roles.
  • You can demonstrate experience in financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, and end-to-end Finance processes within complex organizations. Experience supporting change initiatives, process improvements, or system implementations that affect Finance is strongly valued. In addition, you understand the Finance impacts of change and can assess how business, process, or system changes affect the general ledger, financial reporting, and key controls. You can also help translate Finance needs into practical business requirements. Further, you bring practical systems knowledge and strong proficiency in Excel. It’s an asset to have experience working with SAP or similar Finance platforms, or wealth platforms such as Broadridge. Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, SQL would be beneficial.
