Embark on a transformative journey as a Senior Business Analyst – AVP in Risk Technology At Barclays, our vision is clear – to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. You will play a critical role in translating strategic objectives and product vision into scalable technology solutions that deliver measurable value to users and the bank. Your responsibilities include gathering and documenting requirements, creating user stories, process flows, and detailed specifications, and conducting process mapping, gap analysis, and impact assessments to support platform development. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business users and engineering teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and expectations, while leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including test planning, execution, and coordination across stakeholders. In partnership with Product Management, the role will help shape product roadmaps, priorities, and KPIs, ensuring successful delivery of strategic initiatives and continuous platform improvement.
To be successful as a Senior Business Analyst - AVP, you should have:
Good understanding of market and credit risk concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR), risk sensitivities, P&L attribution, stress testing, and FRTB framework
Considerable SQL or Python skills for data analysis, data validation, reporting, and business requirements development
Proven ability to perform requirements elicitation & documentation, process mapping, gap analysis, and cross-functional stakeholder management while bridging communication between risk, quants, and technical teams
Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and similar tools for requirements management, documentation, and project tracking
Working knowledge of Agile and SAFe Agile delivery frameworks, including user story creation, backlog management, and sprint execution
Other highly valued skills include:
Ability to analyze data models, understand entity relationships, and assess data lineage and dependencies
Experience working with APIs, batch and real-time data pipelines, and system integration architectures
Knowledge of pricing and valuation methodologies across multiple asset classes, including rates, credit, and equities
Good understanding of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing methodologies, and quality assurance practices for technology platforms
Familiarity with Risk Management (RM), Front Office (FO), and Quantitative Analytics (QA) processes and their use of risk and pricing data
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.
Minimum Salary: $115,000
Maximum Salary: $155,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
