The opportunity to join our team

As a Senior Business Analyst within Platform Development, you will help drive product innovation across the MLC Expand platform. Leveraging your Product and Platform knowledge you will translate strategic opportunities, adviser needs and emerging technology capabilities into clear, delivery-ready business requirements. Working across product management, strategy, UX, data, technology, operations and delivery, you will shape initiatives from early discovery through to implementation. This is an opportunity to influence intuitive, insight-led product innovations that deliver meaningful value for advisers, clients and the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, assess and shape innovative product propositions and emerging opportunities.
• Translate product concepts and stakeholder needs into clear, structured and delivery-ready business requirements.
• Facilitate discovery activities and workshops to test assumptions, define target outcomes and establish scope and priorities.
• Collaborate with product management, strategy, UX, data and technology teams to align product design with strategic objectives.
• Develop user stories, support backlog shaping and contribute to prioritisation and delivery-readiness activities.
• Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, productivity improvement and innovation.
• Work with operations, risk, change and delivery stakeholders to assess impacts, dependencies, risks and trade-offs.
• Support business readiness and adoption to ensure new capabilities deliver practical and measurable value.

What you will bring:

• Experience in product development, product management, wealth platforms or financial services product environments.
• Strong business analysis capability, with the ability to frame complex problems, test assumptions and translate needs into actionable requirements.
• Experience working in agile product delivery environments, including discovery, backlog shaping, user story development and prioritisation.
• Proven ability to collaborate with product, UX, technology, data, operations, risk and change stakeholders.
• Strong communication, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and navigate ambiguity.
• Experience identifying opportunities for process improvement, simplification, automation and productivity uplift.
• A curious, strategic and customer-led mindset, supported by a commitment to continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.
• Experience in wealth management, superannuation, wrap platforms or broader financial services environments will be highly regarded, while knowledge of AI-enabled capabilities and automation is desirable.
