Senior Business Analyst
• Permanent Full-time opportunity based in Sydney, Woonona or Speers Point
• Hybrid work arrangements | WFM flexibility available
• 5 weeks annual leave, 18 days sick/carers leave
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Scheme Intelligence and Performance team.
In this role, you will be responsible for translating business needs into clear, intuitive and decision-ready Power BI dashboards and reports. Working closely with business stakeholders, actuarial, data science and business intelligence teams, you will turn complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across Coal Services.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading the design, development and continuous improvement of Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
• Engaging with business users and senior stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and business challenges
• Delivering trusted analytics, insights and visualisations that support decision-making at all levels of the organisation
• Driving best practice in data visualisation, user experience and report design
• Leading data validation, profiling and quality assurance activities
• Mentoring and supporting analysts to uplift capability and technical standards across the team
• Collaborating with actuarial, data science, business intelligence and IT teams to deliver high-quality reporting outcomes
About you:
Your education, experience and skills will include:
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business, Statistics or a related STEM discipline
• Extensive experience in business analysis, business intelligence or data and analytics environments
• Advanced Power BI skills, including data modelling, DAX, dashboard development and user-centric report design
• Strong experience gathering requirements and partnering with senior stakeholders
• Experience translating complex datasets into meaningful business insights
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other analysts
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience using AI and LLM technologies to enhance analysis and reporting processes will be highly regarded
• Previous experience within workers compensation, insurance, personal injury or health-related industries will be highly regarded
