Pay Range

£45,000 to £65,000

Working Hours/Pattern:

Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part time basis. This role is remote but travel will be expected when required and occasionally to the office.

What is the role about?

Within the Implementation and Projects team the Senior Business Analyst (Snr BA) plays a critical role in bringing new service contracts to life. This is a diverse role working with various stakeholders from bid development through to hand over to delivery. The role focuses on business change, service design, ensuring that contractual, operational, and user needs are translated into clear, workable operating models, processes and supporting solutions. Working closely with various workstreams and subject matter experts the Snr BA takes the lead in setting out methodologies, strategies to efficiently analyse and define current and future state service delivery models, document and define business requirements, assess impacts of change on the business, and enable the successful adoption of new services across people, process, data, and technology that enables high performance from day one. The Snr BA takes an active role in providing leadership to embed practices and processes across the business analysis community.

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the analysis of service contracts, bid documentation, and commissioner requirements to understand business goals, constraints, and value drivers of end-to-end service delivery.

  • Define current-state and future-state service models, identifying business changes required across people, process, data, technology, and supply chain partners.

  • Lead option analysis, gap analysis, and impact assessments to support service design / implementation decisions.

  • Plan and facilitate workshops and walkthroughs to validate full service designs, processes, and requirements with senior and operational stakeholders and workstreams.

  • Ensure risks, dependencies, and assumptions associated with service delivery and contract mobilisation supporting high performance from day 1 are captured, quantified and appropriate mitigations in place.

  • Working with key stakeholders to document clear end to end service delivery maps, business outcomes, and where relevant Epics and user stories with acceptance criteria, to a ‘sprint ready’ standard.

  • Maintain traceability from contractual requirements through to operational processes and supporting systems.

  • Apply Human-Centred Design principles to understand user needs and pain points.

  • Act as a trusted professional between business units, the change team, and commissioners to align expectations.

  • Work closely with Reed in Partnership stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to understand requirements, develop solutions, and ensure successful project delivery.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and set out proposals, recommendations and options in achieving milestones.

  • Contribute to post-implementation reviews and lessons learnt to build on and improve intended service realisation outcomes, methodologies, practices and processes.

  • Provide leadership in improvement initiatives within the team.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience leading and managing Business Analysis and service design activities in complex and diverse environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, analysing complex problems, evaluating alternatives, and using data to underpin strategic and tactical decision-making.

  • Proven ability to document and manage requirements, translating business needs into effective solutions through use cases, process and data models, and system specifications.

  • Working knowledge of industry-standard modelling notations and tools, including UML, BPMN, and BA tooling such as Microsoft Visio,Lucidchart, Excel, and digital collaboration tools (e.g. Miro).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable leading workshops, facilitating discussions, and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Collaborative, customer-focused, and value-driven mindset, comfortable working with ambiguity and iterative delivery approaches.

  • Highly organised, with the ability to balance competing priorities in fast-paced environments.

  • Strong understanding of technology trends, market landscapes, and emerging solutions.

  • Relevant professional certifications, including one or more IIBA, BCS, Agile BA, or equivalent accreditations.

  • Demonstrable commitment to continual professional development, supported by a maintained CPD log.

Technical Fluency:

  • Familiarity with high-level system context and data flow diagrams.

  • Understanding of integration requirements; articulate non-functional needs (performance, security, privacy).

  • Able to identify architectural constraints, align with reference architectures where necessary. Leadership & Influence:

  • Demonstratable experience of facilitating workshops (discovery, prioritisation); managing conflicting viewpoints; and adapting comms for wider stakeholder group.

  • Participate in Community of Practice / practice development to help continuously improve the Business Analysis capability at Reed in Partnership

  • Stay updated with industry standards and emerging technologies that could benefit Reed in Partnership.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Human-Centred Design and Service Design practices.

  • Understanding of APIs, data flows, and integration points.

  • Experience in digital transformation or product development environments.

  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).

  • Familiarity with digital product lifecycle and UX principles.

  • Ability to create user stories, acceptance criteria, and lightweight documentation.

  • Knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.

  • Experience in the procurement process, including requirements gathering and vendor evaluation Understanding of public service contracted provision (e.g. the UK Welfare to Work Sector, Preventative Health Services, Justice sector, Youth sector, Testing/Assessment services etc.)
