Who are we hiring?

Reporting to the SVP, Studio Technology the Sr. Business Analyst, Technology role operates at the intersection of production operations, enterprise technology, and finance — translating complex infrastructure programs into clear business cases, investment strategies, and executive-level insights. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in financial modeling and operational analytics, paired with an understanding of cloud, hybrid infrastructure, and production workflows within media, entertainment, VFX, or similarly complex environments.

In this role, you will partner closely with technology leadership to evaluate investments, model infrastructure demand, quantify operational impact, and support long-range planning across critical technology programs. You will help drive data-informed decisions by turning technical concepts into measurable business outcomes, while producing polished materials for finance, executive, and board-level audiences. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and enjoys connecting strategy, operations, and technology at scale.

What will you do?

  • Partner with technology leadership to translate large-scale studio and infrastructure programs into business cases, capital plans, and executive narratives
  • Operate at the intersection of production operations, cloud and on-prem infrastructure, and finance — turning technical programs into quantified outcomes.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

Financial & investment analysis

  • Build CapEx / OpEx models for multi-tier investment proposals (Good / Better / Best frameworks) covering scope, capabilities, risks, and migration considerations
  • Develop ROI and cost-avoidance models for individual technology programs (cloud spend reduction, render farm utilization, VFX labor offset, etc.) with clearly stated assumptions
  • Model total cost of ownership for vendor decisions (storage platforms, virtualization stacks, render management, networking) and produce side-by-side comparisons
  • Track hardware market trends (GPU, memory, networking) and flag pricing windows that should shift purchase timing or scope

Capacity & operations analytics

  • Quantify infrastructure utilization across render farm, storage, network, and cloud; build dashboards that expose contention, idle capacity, and forecasted demand
  • Translate production pipeline growth (shows, residencies, marquee events, venue expansion) into infrastructure capacity requirements
  • Identify and size the operational impact of pain points surfaced from production staff, post, playback, and pipeline teams
  • Develop billback and chargeback models that map infrastructure consumption to projects and business units

Program & portfolio support

  • Maintain technology roadmaps with LOE, FTE, sequencing, and dependency views
  • Maintain headcount and resourcing models — current vs. required engineering months by program, with shortfall analysis and quarterly hiring plans

Communication

  • Produce executive-grade decks, one-pagers, FAQs, and speaker notes for finance, executive, and board audiences
  • Translate architecture diagrams and engineering concepts into business language without losing technical accuracy

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years in technology strategy, business operations, or management consulting with exposure to media, entertainment, VFX, gaming, or large-scale infrastructure
  • Financial modeling skills in Excel; comfortable with CapEx vs. OpEx structures, multi-year forecasts, and sensitivity analysis
  • Working fluency with cloud economics (GCP, AWS, or Azure) — compute, storage, egress, FinOps concepts
  • Working understanding of studio / VFX production workflows: render farms, DCC tools, storage tiers, pipeline, post, content delivery
  • Strong written communication; able to produce polished executive deliverables with minimal direction
  • Familiarity with hybrid-cloud architectures, render management (OpenCue, Deadline), DAM/MAM platforms, or virtualization (VMware, Proxmox)
  • SQL or BI tooling (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) for utilization and cost analytics
  • Experience supporting capital planning cycles in a media or production environment
Pay Range
$96,000$160,000 USD
