Senior Business Analyst

Location: Kharadi, Pune

We are seeking a business-focused Senior Data Analyst to support Commercial functions by translating business needs into data-driven insights. Working closely with Commercial stakeholders and Data Translators, this role will enable improved decision-making across sales performance, pricing strategy, customer insights, and market growth initiatives.

What will you be doing?

  • Strategy (15%):

Partner with Commercial leaders to align data initiatives with revenue growth, customer engagement, and market expansion goals

Support development of Commercial data strategy aligned to enterprise data services and AI enablement roadmap

Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics, SQL-driven insights, and data exploration for sales optimization and pricing effectiveness

  • Design (15%):

Translate Commercial business requirements into analytical datasets using SQL, data models, and reporting solutions

Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from Snowflake and enterprise data platforms

Collaborate with Data Translators, Product Owners, and Engineering teams to define scalable data models

Design intuitive and actionable reporting solutions using Power BI or equivalent tools

  • Execute & Govern (50%)

Develop, maintain, and enhance Commercial dashboards and analytics products

Perform deep-dive data analysis using SQL and analytics techniques to uncover trends in sales performance, pipeline, pricing, and customer behaviour

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with enterprise governance standards through data validation and reconciliation

Support Agile delivery processes, working with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental value

Perform detailed analysis on sales performance, pipeline, pricing, and customer trends

Conduct data profiling, transformation logic validation, and root cause analysis for data issues

Validate data requirements and support UAT, ensuring business alignment and quality outcomes

  • Communicate & Train (20%)

Present actionable insights to Commercial stakeholders using clear visual storytelling

Develop documentation and user guides for reporting solutions

Support adoption of analytics tools through training and stakeholder engagement

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of experience in data analysis within Commercial/Sales environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL (query writing, joins, aggregations, performance optimisation)
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, KPIs, and CRM/data ecosystems
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts, ETL processes, and data pipelines
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful business insights

  • Governance & Quality: Ensures adherence to enterprise data standards and controls
  • Agile Delivery: Works effectively in iterative delivery environments
  • Collaboration: Partners closely with Data Translators, engineers, and business users
