The Senior Business Analyst for Retail requires deep understanding of the Annuities value chain, lifecycle and data, with the ability to analyze how annuity submissions, case setup, policy issuance, and post issue events flow across upstream intake systems, policy administration platforms, and downstream financial and reporting systems. This role is responsible for leading the analysis, design, and delivery of business and technology solutions that support Talcott's retail operations, New Business, Policy Administration, and Contact Center functions. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, influencing decision-making that will best suit the application ecosystem while adhering to enterprise standards, governance, and risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead business analyst activities for the policy admin system (FAST) following Talcott’s principles in alignment with enterprise technology strategy
• Ensure business requirements and solutions are designed with flexibility, scalability, and future-state adaptability in mind
• Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, and participate in solution design, and testing for complex initiatives working closely with cross functional and the vendor teams
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful delivery
• Perform data analysis to trace and validate annuity data across upstream, administration, and downstream systems, identifying root causes of issues and gaps.
• Translate business questions into data driven insights, connecting system behavior back to annuity processes and outcomes
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions to drive consensus and decision-making
• Support project delivery through all phases of the lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, and implementation
• Mentor and guide junior analysts and consultants, promoting best practices in business analysis and stakeholder engagement
• Perform hand-on testing, applying best practices to enhance and increase efficiency and thinks about continuous improvements
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Requires 5–7+ years of relevant experience in business consulting, business analysis, or a related IT function
• Proven experience working within the annuities line of business, with ability to translate business terminology into technical requirements
• Preferred experience of having worked in a life and annuity policy administration system, with the ability to navigate through the application, understand system boundaries, and contribute to scalable, modular solutions
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with enterprise impact, and working with multiple vendor teams
• Experience operating in environments with formal governance, risk, and control frameworks
• Strong understanding of business process, requirements management, delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid), and testing principles
Compensation:
This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
