Senior Business Analyst

Location: NY area

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Business Analyst to join our growing product team. This role is critical in ensuring that the solutions we design and deliver effectively address our customers’ business challenges.

The ideal candidate produces clear, structured, and self-explanatory requirements that enable development teams to execute with minimal ambiguity. This individual is not only responsible for gathering requirements, but also for proactively proposing thoughtful, value-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Elicitation & Analysis

  • Lead structured elicitation sessions with stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document business and technical requirements

  • Analyze, prioritize, and manage requirements, identifying dependencies, risks, and potential impacts on scope and delivery timelines

  • Translate complex business needs into actionable product requirements

Requirements Structuring & Documentation

  • Produce high-quality documentation using industry-standard methodologies and tools

  • Develop clear functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria

  • Maintain and continuously refine the product backlog to ensure accuracy and readiness

  • Ensure documentation is comprehensive, structured, and easily understood by cross-functional teams

Requirements Validation & Governance

  • Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives

  • Facilitate review sessions and obtain formal stakeholder sign-off

  • Ensure traceability and consistency throughout the project lifecycle

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams

  • Clearly communicate requirements to developers, QA, and business sponsors (including participation in refinement sessions, “3 Amigos,” sprint ceremonies, etc.)

  • Foster collaborative working relationships and proactively manage stakeholder expectations

  • Provide consultative input and solution-oriented recommendations to customers

Alignment with Delivery Framework

  • Ensure requirements activities align with project timelines and delivery plans

  • Support adherence to company methodologies and best practices, including Agile and Scrum frameworks

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of internal BA processes and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline

  • 6–7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within software development environments

  • Demonstrated experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder projects

  • Strong expertise in requirements management methodologies and tools

  • Proven ability to structure complex information into clear, actionable documentation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
