Job Description

About the role – 12-month Fixed Term Contract

It’s an exciting time to be a Business Analyst at People First Bank! Our team of Business Analysts are at the forefront of shaping the creation of a new bank by working on complex, enterprise‑scale technology initiatives.

We are offering a unique opportunity for a Senior / Technical Business Analyst with deep Salesforce platform experience to play a leading role in the design, delivery, and optimisation of our Salesforce ecosystem. This role will work closely with Salesforce solution architects, administrators, developers, and integration teams to define requirements, drive platform‑aligned solutions, and ensure high‑quality outcomes across multiple Salesforce products.

The focus of this role is on technical Salesforce analysis - including data models, integrations, automation, security, and configuration - while ensuring solutions align with business processes, regulatory obligations, and customer experience objectives. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will own requirements end‑to‑end, lead complex analysis activities, and guide solution decisions to ensure scalable, maintainable Salesforce implementations.

You will also play a key role in uplifting capability across the Business Analyst Community of Practice by providing leadership, coaching, and technical analysis guidance.

The successful candidate would work collaboratively with business representatives, Delivery Leads, Product Owners, and technology leads who perform due diligence to add value and drive solution outcomes across the business. Furthermore, as a Senior Business Analyst, you will drive the Community of Practice maturity across the team whilst providing support, guidance and leadership to Business Analysts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead end‑to‑end business analysis for Salesforce initiatives, including enhancements, implementations, and platform optimisation

  • Elicit, analyse, and document detailed functional and non‑functional requirements aligned to Salesforce best practice

  • Translate business needs into Salesforce‑ready user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications

  • Partner closely with Salesforce Architects, Developers, Admins, and integration teams to ensure shared understanding of solution intent

  • Analyse Salesforce data models, objects, fields, relationships, and data quality considerations to support design decisions

  • Define and document system integrations, APIs, data flows, and source‑to‑target mappings involving Salesforce

  • Support the design of Salesforce automation including Flows, validation rules, approval processes, and triggers (conceptually, not development)

  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, technical constraints, and cross‑system impacts across Salesforce and downstream systems

  • Ensure Salesforce solutions comply with security, privacy, risk, and regulatory requirements

  • Support testing activities including functional testing, UAT, data validation, and release readiness

  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Program Directors to align Salesforce delivery with priorities, OKRs, and technology roadmaps

  • Create and maintain technical business artefacts such as process models, service blueprints, integration diagrams, and data definitions

  • Drive business readiness and change activities related to Salesforce releases and platform changes

  • Actively contribute to the Business Analyst Community of Practice, improving standards, tooling, and technical analysis capability

  • Mentor and support other Business Analysts, particularly in Salesforce‑related analysis skills

About you

You are a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong technical Salesforce capability and confidence working at the intersection of business and technology. You have a solid understanding of how Salesforce is configured, integrated, and governed, and you can engage credibly with architects and developers while remaining outcome‑focused for the business.

You communicate complex Salesforce and technical concepts clearly to senior leaders and non‑technical stakeholders, and you are comfortable operating in ambiguous environments where the solution is shaped collaboratively.

To be successful in the role, you must have the following qualifications or skills:

  • 8+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, with significant experience working on Salesforce platforms

  • Proven experience delivering Salesforce solutions in complex, enterprise, or regulated environments

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce core concepts including objects, data models, security, automation, and reporting

  • Experience working closely with Salesforce technical roles (Architects, Developers, Admins)

  • Strong background in Agile delivery, including writing high‑quality user stories for technical teams

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to technical detail

  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple Salesforce initiatives

  • Comfortable working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery models

  • Proactive advocate for lean, agile, and platform‑aligned best practices

  • Strong facilitation skills, leading workshops focused on solution design and technical trade‑offs

Essential skills for the role:

  • Hands‑on experience working with Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or similar)

  • Salesforce data analysis, including object modelling, field usage, and data quality considerations

  • Integration analysis involving Salesforce APIs, middleware, and downstream systems

  • Source‑to‑target data mapping and transformation analysis involving Salesforce

  • Technical interface or integration specification documentation

  • Experience supporting Salesforce releases, enhancements, and platform upgrades

  • Financial services or highly regulated industry experience

  • Business process modelling aligned to Salesforce capability

  • SQL or data querying experience for validation and analysis (desirable)

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g. Administrator, Advanced Administrator, Business Analyst, or equivalent) highly regarded

  • BABOK, Lean Six Sigma, or similar analysis certifications (desirable)
