Job Description

Compensation Analyst

The USRM Agency Distribution Solutions ADS Compensation Operations team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Analyst to support execution of the Annual Compensation Plan including commission and bonus compensation for Comparion agents and managers. This role is primarily responsible for SAP Compensation application maintenance, enhancements, and testing, with some project management responsibilities and occasional support of monthly team processes to ensure continuity of operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • SAP Compensation Application Maintenance & Testing (primary focus)
    • Own intake, prioritization, and business justification for SAP Compensation enhancements/fixes.
    • Lead business-side requirements, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, monitoring, and issue resolution to support the annual compensation plan.
    • Recommend and drive process/system improvements tied to SAP Compensation and related workflows.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP and mentor junior team members in processes and problem solving
  • Project Management Support (secondary)
    • Lead or support compensation-related projects (primarily SAP-facing), including planning, tracking, stakeholder coordination, and delivery of business outcomes.
    • Maintain project documentation and tools (e.g., templates, trackers) and ensure milestones and service expectations are met.
  • Monthly Team Duties & Operational Support (as needed)
    • Provide coverage for monthly cycle activities when required to support team capacity and deadlines.
    • Produce occasional ad hoc or recurring reporting/analysis to support decision-making and communicate outcomes.
  • Key Skills

    • Organization skills: keeping track of tickets and open issues for prioritization through completion
    • Process improvement: identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and help implement changes.
    • Independent problem solving and analytics: diagnose issues, coordinate resolution, and drive work forward with minimal oversight.

    Ideal candidates will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related analytical field, plus 2–4 years relevant experience (business analysis, project management, and/or UAT).
    • Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Teams; familiarity with tools such as Power BI, Snowflake, SAS, SQL, SharePoint, Salesforce is a plus.
    • Ability to build and maintain project management tools and trackers.
    • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, relationship management, and prioritization skills; comfortable leading meetings and partnering cross-functionally.

    Work Arrangement

    • Remote eligible. If within 50 miles of Boston, MA, in-office attendance is required two days per week (subject to change).

    Qualifications

    • Displays strong research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills.
    • Strong business operations knowledge to include understanding the function's value chain and market conditions.
    • Solid ability to support change and impart value within an organization.
    • Solid project management skills as part of implementing business process changes.
    • Strong knowledge of available data sources, strengths and shortcomings.
    • May also be relevant based on the particular needs of the position
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel and solid knowledge of database software.
    • Solid knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 5+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work.
