About the role

Rabobank is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team in Sydney. The Senior Business Analyst leads business analysis functions in bank initiatives to support the implementation of business outcomes. They work as part of a Squad or team. They may guide, mentor and lead junior business analysts, testers and other team members in the execution of their functions that concentrate around business analysis deliverables.

This role sits within the COO domain and is made up of Technology, Operations, Chief Product Owner, Security & Monitoring, Financial & Economic Crime Unit and Shared Services. Working within the COO Domain will mean working together with other Teams to provide the best overall services to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Develop and manage the business analysis approach, plan and deliverables, reporting progress, risks and dependencies to the Product Owner and senior stakeholders.

  • Identify and engage key stakeholders, facilitate workshops and senior working groups, and build strong relationships to validate outcomes and provide strategic, enterprise‑level input.

  • Contribute to defining initiative scope, objectives and outcomes, undertaking discovery activities including regulatory analysis, gap analysis, synergies and market opportunity assessment.

  • Produce unambiguous business requirements, user stories and functional specifications to support policy, process, organisational, digital and data change initiatives.

  • Contribute to the development of target operating models (TOMs) and solution options in collaboration with architecture, Product Owners and Product Leads, providing clear recommendations.

  • Support implementation through quality assurance of solutions, UAT/BAT, process and policy updates, training materials, and broader change activities.

  • Maintain end‑to‑end traceability, assurance and reporting (including board and committee materials), ensuring all documentation meets organisational and banking framework standards.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Business Analyst within a financial services, risk or compliance environment

  • Strong experience working on complex, multi‑workstream initiatives within an agile delivery environment

  • A strong understanding of digital enablement and automation solutions, including process modelling and optimisation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging and present complex concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
