These are rare opportunities to join a major enterprise-wide transformation program early in its journey and help shape what comes next.

Fraud & Scams and Financial Crime are becoming increasingly interconnected across customer, operational and risk journeys. As financial crime threats evolve, organisations are rethinking how they prevent, detect and respond to these risks to deliver better customer, risk and regulatory outcomes.

Westpac is bringing together leaders from across the enterprise to help shape the future of Fraud & Scams and Financial Crime. You'll join while the program is still taking shape, with a genuine opportunity to influence its direction and help establish the foundations for long-term success.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst who can bring structure and clarity to complex challenges, translate insight into action and help shape future-state outcomes across Fraud & Scams and Financial Crime.

You’ll:

  • Lead complex business analysis and design activities, mapping current-state processes, customer journeys and operating models, and translating insights into future-state outcomes.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across business, risk, operations, technology and data teams, establishing trust, alignment and shared understanding.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions, bringing stakeholders together to gather insights, challenge assumptions and support informed decision-making.
  • Translate business needs into clear, structured and traceable requirements, assessing impacts across people, process, technology, data, risk and controls.
  • Produce high-quality analysis artefacts, impact assessments and decision-support materials to support future-state design, planning and implementation activities.
  • Support business readiness, implementation and operational transition activities, ensuring requirements remain aligned to intended outcomes.

As the program evolves, you'll work across a range of workstreams spanning Fraud & Scams and Financial Crime, helping shape future-state solutions and supporting delivery from discovery and design through to implementation and operational embedment.

Reporting to the Program Director, you'll be supported by a leader who is passionate about developing people, building high-performing teams and creating opportunities for growth. With the program still taking shape, this role offers a unique opportunity to broaden your experience, work with senior stakeholders from across the enterprise and help shape the future of Fraud & Scams and Financial Crime at Westpac.

About you:

First and foremost, you'll be an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong analysis and design capability. You'll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, asking the right questions and turning complex information into clear insights stakeholders can understand and act on.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong hands-on Business Analysis experience, including process analysis, customer journey mapping, operating model assessment and requirements management.
  • Experience developing current-state and future-state analysis, impact assessments and solution options across complex customer, risk and regulatory environments.
  • Experience within financial services or another highly regulated environment, with the ability to build trusted relationships across business, risk, operations, technology and data teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead workshops, gather insights and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience eliciting, documenting and managing business requirements, ensuring requirements remain clear, structured, traceable and aligned to intended outcomes.
  • Experience supporting complex transformation and operating model initiatives across discovery, design, implementation and operational embedment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, structured problem solving and decision-support capability, including requirements traceability, impact assessment and implementation considerations.
  • Experience managing dependencies, risks, issues and implementation impacts across complex workstreams.
  • Excellent written communication, documentation, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Experience assessing data, intelligence or AI-enabled opportunities would be highly regarded.

Just as importantly, you'll bring curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to immerse yourself in the subject matter, understanding the business drivers and desired outcomes.
