Job Description

Our client is seeking a Building Surveyor to join a leading consultancy based in South Dublin, working on a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and retrofitting projects. This hybrid role offers three days working from home and provides the opportunity to contribute to high-profile developments across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of building surveying, from inspections and reporting to project delivery. While Chartered status is preferred, it is not essential for the right candidate with strong technical and project experience.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct building surveys, inspections, and condition assessments across a range of property types.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and schedules of work.
• Manage refurbishment, retrofitting, and fit-out projects from inception to completion.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Provide expert advice on building regulations, planning, and compliance matters.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and contract administration.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and quality standards on-site.
• Support junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is up to date and compliant.

Requirements:

• Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a building surveying role, ideally within consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction, retrofitting, and building regulations.
• Proficient in report writing, specification development, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Chartered status (SCSI/RICS) is preferred but not essential.
